My favorite was when I was playing Sadako and went back to watch the VOD of the Survivor that happened to be streaming in the match. I teleported to a tv by an incomplete gen, and the streamer, who was convinced that I was stream sniping, calls out, "Oh, come ON! You have NO REASON to be here!" ...uh, yeah, I do. TV was on. Gen was not completed. I was not chasing anyone at the time. Why would I NOT teleport to that spot?
I got called once a stream sniper, because I run the crow Perk and they were all healing in one corner. I just wrote in the endgame chat, "look at my Perks. btw you didn´t have ttv in your name and no link on steam, so how would I know you are streaming" they only wrote "oh" and left 😂

Oh gods I remember being tunneled and area camped at 5 gens by a Huntress because I was using Potential Energy. My teammates were angels and traded but the Huntress still wanted me. He dropped chase when I got too much distance and ended up losing the hook due to a pick up. I died at 2 gens (tunneled out) and he immedately went to town, moaning about how I deserved what I got for running Potential Energy (a high risk and high reward perk) and I just told him that despite that he only got me out after tunneling the entire match and even then it took him three gens. I blocked him when he started getting really nasty, but yeah, that one stood out to me. Or as a Baby Hag when I got bombarded with GG EZ. I had plenty of fun figuring out the bare basic with Hag and taking in the beauty of the map that I just told them "you're welcome" and kept it moving.

I'm very early into my DbD journey but I feel like I should print this out and tape it to my desk just in case to make sure I correct myself if I hit any of these checks. I'm trying to be a killer that plays nice (lets the hooked flee when saved, avoids being around hooked people too much, going after multiple people when I can, etc.), has fun, and overall makes it a good experience for everyone but I feel like being fully aware of the salty trappings is handy for when I actually get to decent ELOs. It's a shame the game brings out so much toxicity since honestly its pretty fun.
Oh I may need to use this lmao litterally every 2-3 games I always get these salty survivor players when playing killer or survivor and the best part it I almost never see killers act like this maybe a dc every once and a while but 95% of the time this reflects the survivor player base for me atleast could be completely different to anyone else
Playing Killer is rough. I was against a swf recently where they would stun you with a pallet and tbag etc. 3 of them got out. I lost but still the first thing they said in end game chat was telling me to bleed out in a bathtub of razorblades. I enjoy the game but generally interactions with a majority of the community is just depressing.

I've definitely seen a lot of these not just in my stream but others. I saw someone put KYS in JG Darhk's stream the other day. He didn't even see it at first cause it was censored in end game. Just why do that? People forget there are real people with real feelings. Funny story. I was trying to complete a Thalita challenge and JG tombstoned me by jumping down on top of me. I was like oh. But when I saw it was JG I was so happy that he batman moried me. It's a fun game with a million different ways to have fun. Your life doesn't depend on the matches. And I've played comp. I've been lucky and most of the TTVs I've met have been super nice and are my friends. I will say I am guilty of saying I hate this game out of a joke and I tell myself to uninstall because I am washed up LOL But I love DBD even on bad days. It's just that. A day. It will be ok.

Imo sweatiness isn’t just wanting to win, it is taking the game so seriously and trying so hard that they become extremely agitating. The streamers you review are a good example of sweats, campers/tunnelers are good examples of sweats, and tbaggers are a good example of sweats

there's a reason why people leave -reps on steam profiles the reason people do that is to warn other people of their behavior like for example, they scammed someone, harassed someone or something else that gives them a bad reputation. The entire point of -rep is to warn other people that the person who got a -rep has a bad reputation. Sure some might not be justified but if it's the same complaint that is consistent, then maybe that person really has a bad reputation for their behavior.
Would one consider this to be toxic, I usually play with my own lil group but whenever we play together I usually take chase a lot but don’t go down or get hooked and my buddies get upset when they are on death hook and start demanding me to take chance again and that I’m not doing enough. Sometimes it’s hard for me to want to play when they DC all the time especially when I’m in the middle of trying to help and I know they’d wiggle out…..and I’ve talked to them a whole lot but they don’t see a problem with their actions but it’s ruining my experience and it makes it hard to have fun playing this game cause it sours my mood. I wouldn’t say you’re the bad person at all, and if you’re not having fun whilst playing with your friends then I’d honestly say to stop playing with them. You don’t need them bringing you down!
Sadly I'm pretty certain I could almost fill this in listening to my usual swf.. I need better friends. We faced a new-ish nurse the other day, there was one random who dc'd on the first nurse sound. The most experienced player runs her most of the match, we finish gens, I end up dying because I greeded the last gen on her face. Anyway end game chat was so disgusting, nurse said nothing wrong but my friends... Worst trash talk. I'm ashamed, and sad I didn't reach out in private message to apologize on their behalf, only thought about it a bit later.
i actually had a hacker recently I played meyers and the surv was faster than me the entire game also I got him once bcause i surprised him and after he get downed he teleported to the other side of the map and ofc was picked up and healed in 3 secs also every palet he tossed gave me 2 stuns instead of one // i know the hacking is called quick (even from me sometimes for example i forgot about play with ur food once but realised it in second chase) but as far as i know there is no perk allow u to teleport and insta heal 2 stages alone
I'm unfortunately guilty of the DCing thing. That being said, it's really more of a "that's enough DBD for today thank you" moment, and then I walk away from the game and do something else lol. I feel like that's better than continuing to have a shit attitude like I'm clearly going to be lol. Side note: yesterday I had someone call me "sweaty" after they ended their hook struggle and cost their team the game because I was running pop and pain res. They were, of course, running MFT, Hope, Dead Hard, and Deliverance. You know, that totally not sweaty meta build lol. Edit: Also adding that the DCs are like, dirty DCs, right as I'm basically dead anyway. I know I'm not perfect, and am capable of being a little salt miner at times, but I try not to put it on others. Especially not my team, I try to give them the best game lol.
The "rep" thing is actually related to Team Fortress 2 and was incorrectly repurposed by DBD players. It was used by people who traded items to show that the trader was reputable. If a trade went well, you were supposed to say "+rep" on their profile to let other traders know that they had conducted amicable trades before. A "-rep" on your steam profile was to show you were unpleasant to deal with or you scammed them.

I have a challenge for you, I am an OW2 player looking to move on cause... (just ow2 bs all the time) So i started looking into DBD but i am not convinced to join the game. It seems to be more toxic than OW2. Is there a video you could make to try to get more people into DBD. I really like your vids... I am wondering how well you'd be able to convince me to play it again? Cause casually .. it looks to be not inviting

I' haven't watched it all yet but I'll totally put in "screaming tunneling, camping etc while not knowing what it means" like "oh mah gawd, face camping" meanwhile I was playing knight and had to sneeze and happened to stand still for a second.. or.. Doing the summoning and they scream camping...and I'm like :I bruh.

there's a reason why people leave -reps on steam profiles
the reason people do that is to warn other people of their behavior like for example, they scammed someone, harassed someone or something else that gives them a bad reputation.
The entire point of -rep is to warn other people that the person who got a -rep has a bad reputation. Sure some might not be justified but if it's the same complaint that is consistent, then maybe that person really has a bad reputation for their behavior.
Would one consider this to be toxic, I usually play with my own lil group but whenever we play together I usually take chase a lot but don’t go down or get hooked and my buddies get upset when they are on death hook and start demanding me to take chance again and that I’m not doing enough. Sometimes it’s hard for me to want to play when they DC all the time especially when I’m in the middle of trying to help and I know they’d wiggle out…..and I’ve talked to them a whole lot but they don’t see a problem with their actions but it’s ruining my experience and it makes it hard to have fun playing this game cause it sours my mood. Am I the bad person?
I wouldn’t say you’re the bad person at all, and if you’re not having fun whilst playing with your friends then I’d honestly say to stop playing with them. You don’t need them bringing you down!
Sadly I'm pretty certain I could almost fill this in listening to my usual swf.. I need better friends. We faced a new-ish nurse the other day, there was one random who dc'd on the first nurse sound. The most experienced player runs her most of the match, we finish gens, I end up dying because I greeded the last gen on her face. Anyway end game chat was so disgusting, nurse said nothing wrong but my friends... Worst trash talk. I'm ashamed, and sad I didn't reach out in private message to apologize on their behalf, only thought about it a bit later.
i actually had a hacker recently I played meyers and the surv was faster than me the entire game also I got him once bcause i surprised him and after he get downed he teleported to the other side of the map and ofc was picked up and healed in 3 secs also every palet he tossed gave me 2 stuns instead of one // i know the hacking is called quick (even from me sometimes for example i forgot about play with ur food once but realised it in second chase) but as far as i know there is no perk allow u to teleport and insta heal 2 stages alone

I'm unfortunately guilty of the DCing thing.
That being said, it's really more of a "that's enough DBD for today thank you" moment, and then I walk away from the game and do something else lol. I feel like that's better than continuing to have a shit attitude like I'm clearly going to be lol.
Side note: yesterday I had someone call me "sweaty" after they ended their hook struggle and cost their team the game because I was running pop and pain res.
They were, of course, running MFT, Hope, Dead Hard, and Deliverance.
You know, that totally not sweaty meta build lol.
Edit: Also adding that the DCs are like, dirty DCs, right as I'm basically dead anyway. I know I'm not perfect, and am capable of being a little salt miner at times, but I try not to put it on others. Especially not my team, I try to give them the best game lol.

The "rep" thing is actually related to Team Fortress 2 and was incorrectly repurposed by DBD players. It was used by people who traded items to show that the trader was reputable. If a trade went well, you were supposed to say "+rep" on their profile to let other traders know that they had conducted amicable trades before. A "-rep" on your steam profile was to show you were unpleasant to deal with or you scammed them.
