    When we raced stock jet ski with all the add-on’s/ after market, we noticed without the rev limiter and then you hit the right wave and pop it up and out to pitch up the engine, you’ll get more out of it. We called it, feeding it, Scooby snacks past the limit, as we had removed the limiter, you still need to go beyond that limit you had to get it to jump out pitch up………. Last this was with 2 stroke engine but also help our4 stroke Honda turbo so both. Fun times!!!!!!

    I can't wait until 2-3 years from now when I can pick up one of these used and tinker with it myself without fear. Plus, by that point there will have been tuners who will have blown up their engines and taught us what not to do without the expense of figuring it out ourselves.

    Just wondering as I have come across this today, on a 2005 seadoo rxp, should a new jet pump bearing have some very slight side to side play? Bought a WSM jet pump rebuild kit and noticed this while installing. I have read the service manual and according to seadoo there should be no play in the shaft or bearing. On my 2017 rxt-x that I am rebuilding the jetpump on, I noticed that there was no play in any direction and is very tight compared to the 2005, is this normal?

    My rxtx 325 has 15 hours now I still cannot get more than 124 kph or 77.05 mph at 8250 rpm.. even with the maptuner scom stuck at 8250 rpm and 77.05 mph.. I'm 100 kilograms or 230 pounds , is this the reason I can't get that extra 4mph. ??
    My mate from the maptuner shop here in Sydney Australia says my ride plate is a slow ride plate, and even after trying 2 maptuner scoms no better result.. would your impeller help me gain this extra mph, would love to here your opinion Greg ???

    • @GreenHulkGarage
      @GreenHulkGarage  Před 5 měsíci +2

      If you’re turning 8250 RPM then you’re on the rev limiter and losing speed. You either need to add pitch to your factory impeller or buy a solas impeller.

  • @flacjacket

    So 80 mph at 8,200, and this thing should be able to do 9,500 without even pulling the valve cover, that means 93 mph stage 1 or 2, just impeller, tune, and maybe fuelling. Insanity. Now we just need someone at BRP to leak the encryption.

      its quite suprising how many complaints there are on the solas impellers even from the 300-215, a lot of people say they either don't see any improvements or actually a diminish in performance from using a solas. most of the time they recommend just using the rxp-x impellers as they normally are quicker response. Almost looks like solas is a budget friendly alternative they are around 10% cheaper than OEM seadoo impellers.

    It would have been great for you to have done the exact same format as you did for the 21rxpx vs gp video with the draggy and the time splits. The modded potential of the new machines is where the fun is at, but always curious to see how a stock 21 rxpx would compare to the 24 rxpx or even an 8500 tune 21 rxpx vs a gps limiter removal 24 rxpx. I would guess harder acceleration on the tuned 21 tho

    • @GreenHulkGarage
      @GreenHulkGarage  Před 5 měsíci +3

      If I had a stock 21 PX or even a Stage 1 then I would absolutely do it. The GP is not even close to a fair comparison to this ski…mod for mod this one will be much faster. The 325 is an incredible machine.

    • @dreknotz1996
      @dreknotz1996 Před 5 měsíci +1

      A stage 1+ FX SVHO is ~1.5 mph faster than a speedunlocked 325 RXTX. A GP would surely give a 325 Seadoo a solid run, a GP goes 80mph with a tune only!! Why are we freaking about a Seadoo accomplishing a similar feat after all these years with soo much modifications? Bare in mind, a 325 from factory already has (stage 2 like) modifications ; upgraded intake, retainers, springs, cam (NA cam with more lift), rideplate and prop. I only think it would be fair to allow a GP/FX the same aftermarket mods for true equal comparison. Otherwise it's all hearsay without evidence
      A future draggy/speed comparison video would feed the fans and PWC community a major talking piece. Just a thought, Give it a shot champ. Thanks for all yall do.

    • @GreenHulkGarage
      @GreenHulkGarage  Před 5 měsíci

      A Stage 1+ FX is only 78 MPH. The 325 is over 80 with just the speed limiter removed.
      The 325 also has an upgraded supercharger making a lot more boost than the 300 supercharger. Just tuning this ski should be mid 80s (5 ish mph faster than a tune only GP). Not saying that it’s not worth doing a comparison, but no Yamaha will be even close to a 325 unless it is heavily modified.

    • @dreknotz1996
      @dreknotz1996 Před 5 měsíci

      @GreenHulkGarage I too thought the same. However, reality and evidence prevailed, we are surprised as to the result up here in GA. Have a view for yourself if you have a second please. A bud and I have ran some ("24 325 Sea-Doo RXT-X w/SCOM Vs 23 Yamaha FX SVHO stage 1+" ) drag runs that are up on CZcams.
      All mods being equal for both a Yamaha ( less cams and reatiners) and Seadoo, running the same RPM. There is still a fight coming from the 14 year old engine. Don't give up on us Yamaha folks just yet lol. The evidence is out there.

      There's only so much displacement you can have while still being able to fit the engine in the hull. I suspect that the primary reason Sea Doo has stayed with 3 cylinders is because it keeps the engine short and allows them to have the narrow, "ergonomic" seat. Yamaha can never have a narrow seat that with the 1.8L engine being as big as it is.
