  • In this video is for a new user of Ruida Controllers. I briefly explain the the main controller buttons and some menu features of the Ruida RDC-6445G DSP Controller from Cloudray Laser amzn.to/2XD7tuI
    (DSP = Digital Signal Processor) I also explain how you can change the power and speed settings of a job file that has been loaded into the controller memory and how to transfer a job file from a UDisk to the controller memory.
    In this tutorial I also show how to move the laser head into position using the arrow, origin & frame keys including a quick guide into making changes the manual step movement distance in the Function+ menu.
    Use the timestamps below to skip to sections of the video that interest you or that you want to watch again (I try to include these in most of my videos).

      It sounds like you have an additional power switch for the laser only?
      When I push my power off button, the panel also goes off, is that something you added yourself?

      no I did not add any switches for power, most laser machines have a main power switch along with a laser power switch and e/stop switch.

    Hi Matt, I have learnt a LOT from you. Thanks. One question I have that I cannot seem to find an answer for is: When a job is running there is a small cursor showing the position of the cursor on the work. This is great. Question: Is there some way to turn on this cursor when in manual mode and you are moving the head around the work space. If there was I could mode the head to the edge of the work on the screen and set the user origin. It would make it easier for me. Do you have an answer? Thanks in advance.

    I'm assuming that you have 2 stepper motors for your X axis... How did you set up the RDC6445G to use "slave motor/axis"? And how you did you setup the limit switches for the master/slave motors?

    Hi, Matt and Folks! I'm looking at 3 controllers. Ruida 6344G (fancy 7 inch touchscreen), Ruida 6445G or the Trocen AWC708C PLUS. Any thoughts? The Trocen is a 6 axis. When would someone need 6? Do you have to slave motors like CNC router controllers require? Is the 6445G a big step up from the 6344G even though it isn't touchscreen?

    • @MWLaser
      @MWLaser  Před 4 lety

      Hello Fred, I have been in contact with Cloudray Laser in regard to your enquiry. The information they provided in answer to your questions is.. (I quote)
      "Trocen 6 axis control does mean "slave motors ". It can support up to 4 laser heads motion, and support like auto feeding functions.
      The software in panel for 6344G is 3rd generation, while the software for 6445G is 4th generation. As I know, the menu for RDC6445G is better to operate then 6344G. Even RDC6344G is larger and touch screen."
      If you need any further assistance feel free to contact Cloudray Direct.

    Matt, Great tutorial. I have a 100 watt chinese laser with the RDC-6445G controller. It stopped firing the laster, but on the box inside that has the little red button. If I press that when the two connectors are removed, the laser fires. so i know it is not the laser tube. When it is running through a job. the red laser pointer goes in and out when the laser is firing. They used to fire consistantly but now they dont. If i just do a large square vector line, it will fire on and off. I tried resetting the controler but now it only is at 350 mm x 350 mm ish.. Even when i set the dim to 600mm x 400mm it will not go beyond that.. I am so confused as it worked fine for months. Any places you can recommend to fix this? I cannot even find a place for updated fw. Curent firmware of the controller is RDLC-V15.01.22.

    hi matt thanks for all the info in your videos :) i have a question i see most people upgrade to the ruida 6442 and you picked the 6445 can i ask why you chose this model and why you think its more common to see the 6442 model? im wanting to upgrade from top wisdom im just having trouble deciding between the 6442 that i see is more common and the 6445 which has a bigger display and more buttons lol i just got a 80 watt Chinese red and black laser last week so im going to start getting the upgrades for it
    thanks again for all your videos!!!!!

    • @MWLaser
      @MWLaser  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi, Thanks for the feedback. It is more common to see the 6442 as it is the older version, the 6445 was only released recently, The reason I chose the 6445 over the 6442, is that the 6445 is the upgraded model of the 6442 with a few extra features that I could add on later (like remote and wifi).
      The extra buttons are useful, the button options are available in the 6442 menu system but having them directly on the control panel is helpful and time saving. And the menu system is much easier to navigate on the 6445 making it easier to change parameters etc.
      With both versions 6442 & 6445 you can also easily alter settings using RD works and Lightburn so nothing is different there.
      The bigger screen was also a consideration for me when I was deciding which one to go with.
      I guess most people choose the 6442 due to the cost it is quite a bit cheaper. Also the 6445 is larger so if replacing the TopWisdom controller you may need to alter the cutout where the panel sits or make a control panel like I did in the upgrade video.
      The plan for this control panel box is available on my website.
      Let me know if you need assistance when upgrading I'd be happy to help.
      Cheers Matt

      I see on cloudray they are both $310 USD with the power supply so I’m not sure why you would go with the 6442?
      Well I was leaning towards the 6445 I was just a bit worried there was a reason I was seeing so many buy the 6442 so I didn’t want to regret my decision lol
      Thanks again this makes me feel a lot better making my decision:)

    • @MWLaser
      @MWLaser  Před 5 lety

      If you already have a power supply for the TopWisdom Controller that has 24V supply you shouldn't need to purchase the RDC6445 with a power supply. (The TL-410 controller used 24V - but if you have a TW controller that used only 5V then the PSU may be required.) On my machine the PSU supplies both 24V & 5V

But I'm still confused after even talking to another person about it still didn't understand if it is only letting my machine use 35% of its power or if my maximum power of my machine is being put out at 35%, meaning 35% would really be 100% of my machines power?

      I sure you could configure a thermostat to cut off and pause work, similar to if you have no water flow. When you don't have waterflow (and it is wired to controller's Water Protect Input) the machine will pause with a Water Protect Error. This would then pause machine and you would have to Press ENTER to continue and NOT ESC.

      you can control the rdc6445 via ethernet - In RD works you can use the TEST tab to enter the coordinates, and use the Move Tab in LightBurn

    hello Mattew, can you please help me? I explain, after having turned on the Rotary that I didn't even use, I redid the connections and turned everything back on as it was, but now the machine doesn't work like it used to. It doesn't reset and the axis movement is swapped, that is, in the RIUDA 6445 panel the U+ and U- makes the Y movement and the left and right arrows don't work for the X . Should I load the factory or default parameters from the RUIDA panel? what can I do to get everything back to normal. help please. Best Regards

    how to turn off the machine with RUIDA 6445? By the stop switch only?

    • @MWLaser
      @MWLaser  Před 4 lety

      The controller does not have a separate power off option on the panel. Controller powers on and off with regular power supply switch.

      @MWLaser  Před 3 lety +1

      machine turning off can be many things, 1st thing to check that any power board or safety switch has not bee tripped off, next would be check the fuse, the location of this varies on each machine. If you require support contact askmatt@mwlaser.com.au and I will try to fit you in my schedule. Cheers Matt

      @@MWLaser Thanks a lot! Yes, I checked and the machine had a blown fuse, the sellers put me some fuses that do not correspond to my voltage, I changed them and it worked perfect for me.... Thank you very much.

    hi, i am french and i have a question, do you know the password for reset to the factory setting ?

    • @MWLaser
      @MWLaser  Před 3 lety

      Yes - use with CAUTION. backup your settings first. Why do you need this? NOTE: some manufacturers do not have factory default settings and using this will clear your controller of all useable settings for your machine rendering it inoperable until you then enter all settings from scratch. - PW: HD8888
