This has probably been my favorite series that you have ever done. Its like a whole ass drama unfolding before my eyes.
Sims 1 is so fun. I wish I had seen this live. Yes, isometric was a way to fake 3D, though vector graphics games could do that too (i.e. Tempest and Star Wars for the arcade). Crystal Castles for the arcade was probably my first isometric game experience and that came out in 1983. Zaxxon was another good one.

Im glad you said something about how wacky the writing was in the earlier installations of this game. The sims4 is so bland and cringe now that it feels like its where comedy goes to die a so painful death trapped inside a pool with no ladder
No you're so right, sims 1-3 had this kind of eerie charm to them that was so iconic and sims 4 is devoid of personality and any attempt at it feels rlly forced. sad that sims 5 will probably suffer the same fate as SimCity
@@poisonivy2298 I would blame the wokeness but it's not wholly the Fault of the WOKE. Maybe its just the people who flock towards Wokeness, they lack originality. They don't have the same talent as the ones who came before.

A lot of the later sims 4 packs have some of that weird flavour. But it shouldn’t be locked behind paywalls. They also really bunged up the relationship systems.
We def hold a lot of nostalgia for these older sims games that isn’t entirely fair on 4, lately they are trying. Which doesn’t really say much.

Build mode 6 is good, but my personal favourite is Build mode 5, very interesting and emotional track that builds up and changes tempo multiple times

One fact that I tell people all the time is how Trivium did a simlish version of their song "Like light to flies" for the sims 2 metal station.

I was shocked to hear you do not think cats have personality, I have six and have always been a non creepy cat lover. 😂 they have sooooo much personality, all of mine are very different, also have two dogs, but enjoy cats more lol.
I love having litter boxes to clean, dogs are much more likely to go on my carpet. 👎🏼😂

I've always had cats, lived with many as a kid and always had one or two plus plenty of roommates kitties as well over the years. I think his take is absolutely the opposite of the case.
Dogs have several default personalities and then lots of quirks that make them a lil more unique. Some breeds (huskies and Chihuahua come to mind) have pretty vibrant/loud traits that set them apart as well... and cats are a whole different story. I've had aggressively affectionate cats, "normal" cuddly basic-ish cats, distant/independent cats, cold and unloving cats, high maintainance cats who will spite puke if they don't like something and know you hate cleaning it up. Cats who loved to play or even do tricks, and others who refused to even look at a toy and got their exercise from extra zoomies instead. Cats who want to hang out on your shoulders or be cradled like a lil baby, and others who will absolutely fuck your shit up if you try to pick them up or make them be anywhere.
I've met and lived with a lot of dogs and so few of them have ever stood out to me the way that most cats do.

When someone asks me if I am a cat or a dog person. I ask them "are you an inhale or an exhale person?" I have both a cat and a dog, and the cat is much more polite and keeps herself to herself. The dog is a menace 🤣🤣🤣

Fellow Floridian here, those big ones aren't the bad cockroaches. They are American cockroaches also called Palmeto bugs. Basic story is that the American cockroaches were never "domesticated" like the German ones (which are the small ones) so they actually can't even live indoors. They sometimes wander in on accident, but there's no reason to be concerned about the American variety aside from the fact that they will come in and die on their own. Maybe double check the seals on your doors or do some other kind of insulation test and that should prevent them from coming in. I've also been noticing fewer of them as bugs in general are dying due to global warming. The swarms of love bugs are gone, fire ants really aren't a worry anymore, etc.
Remember fireflies? I used to see tons of them as a kid in the 90s and early 00s. I've seen a couple, deep in the woods camping the past few years. Just one or two at a time. I won't look it up because it already makes me so sad, but I think they're almost gone.

Yeas please. It is near impossible to get it working now. I got it to work on a very very old pc. No expansions tho.
@@Vinja_Wolters I prefer the expansions when it comes to sims 2, it really makes the game a lot more interesting. I think having an option to turn them off would be nice!

1:17:30 The original house as it was was fine for making a house more set back from the street. Start the new house as an extension off the back wall of the old house, add the new house living room there as a second room to the old house and add other rooms as cash allows, once everything from the original house has a room to itself and you moved the last furniture from the old house you level it making the door between them the new front door. That's how many of my first houses started though now I kinda plan them out before by making the first house an 8x8 tile square that will be the living room of the finished house and the kitchen/dining room as 8x5 on one side as the first addition then bathroom next followed by a bedroom or two. At this point the original plan is long gone and not even close to the finished house.
1:57:00 Good tip... wait for sufficient funds to complete a remodel before starting it. 10k per room fully furnished or 5k per room unfurnished.is a good base for mansion building. 20k is a good amount for a complete unfurnished remodel to make a single room home into a 2 bedroom 1 bath moderate sized house,

Dogs are pack animals who rely on the group to survive. I think both animals and their behaviors are appreciated more when we remember they have a history before we put collars on em
Happiness is related to how many things you own. If you have everything you need to do your hobbies that makes you happy. If you have everything that entertains you that makes you happy. If you have things you enjoy seeing that decorates your home that makes you happy. More than that and it doesn't make you more happy and just getting stuff to have stuff makes you unhappy because you don't have all the stuff.
Sims 1 paintings selling for ~$100 and thats good, my Sims 3 painter sells them for up to $10k per painting at the consignment shop. You could say Sims 3 painting is just OP lol.

Old pc game: Tonka raceway
Rags to riches is fun in Sims games but my favorite personal take on it is a no skills ever, no job ever, and no investing into businesses to get from 0 to $1 million in cash and a fully furnished mansion that's worth over $1 million. Making $2 million+ without any skills, job, or investments is difficult but so satisfying when done. Sims 3 dumpster diving career lol. Though I do allow for using genie lamps collected when exploring the catacombs in Sims 3. One thing I would never do is try it in Sims 1 or 2(how to do it is my issue and since I have neither of the games I probably won't learn) and Sims 4 can F right off though perfectly doable if you can prevent your Sim from gaining a skill which I think just might be impossible.
Nope I'm both equally cat person and dog person 100% Also dogs can't use a toilet but there is such things as dog litter boxes they just never caught on for obvious reasons.

Dog people are great. The only dog people I hate are the ones that let their dogs run up to me. I’m allergic to dogs. I’m a cat person anyways. All animals are awesome though
