Red with brick tones work best on me. True neutral is fine but not as easy. I’m slightly warm fair slightly olive with low contrast with green eyes. Intensity or contrast is the key for lipsticks! *Tip* Use a lip brush and blur the edges if you are low contrast.

I love this concept of intensity ... very eye opening! I'm definitely low intensity, so this helps me understand why some of my lip choices have been big disappointments! I definitely need a lot of purple in my lip shades for them to look right.
Thank you! I always used to try bright lip shades and be like wait why doesn't this look as good on me like it does on others lol! So learning about intensity really helped me buy better shades.

Oh this was very informative, because most pinks either pull orange or to bright against my fair skin. And purples normally as a mauve look awesome on me unless they have too much grey or brown. Bright purples are a no and I've never really found a nude that works for me but sheer cool reds look awesome against my dark hair and eyes . But mostly I just wear a clear lip balm and use lip pencils to a a slight bit of color so i can control the intensity.
I love a bold lip popping on my face. Cherries in the Snow by Revlon looks so good on cool toned skin. Don't know why there's so much hype about Ruby Woo with such a drying formula. Pretty color, though.
Another color is soft silver rose. A pink color.

I refer to the really orangey/ coral red shades as spaghetti sauce vibes because to me on my complexion they look less like makeup and more like “oh that’s unfortunate she just ate some very messy spaghetti”. 😂
If it helps anyone else, I am slightly less pale than you and am more of a slightly warm/ neutral olive, with higher contrast due to medium to darker brown hair and I find brick tones and warmer berry tones to be the most flattering. In addition to challenges with oranges/ corals, I find too cool/ purple berry hues or reds with a really blue undertone look off on me.

Idk how, but so many supposedly “pink-toned nudes” read as red on my extremely fair, mid-high-contrast, cool-olive-toned skin 😅
Sheer balms are my go-to if I’m feeling like a pop of red, but honestly, they never look as good as a mlbb shade.

I struggle with any bold color of lipstick, really. I always fall back on a sheer neutral nudie lip product, or just clear lip balm. I’ve never thought about this quality of contrast in my coloring, but I wonder if that explains it. Especially looking at a picture in B&W, I have much more contrast than I realized, and my eyes REALLY stand out. I have medium to light reddish brown hair, but my skin is very fair and desaturated. My green eyes are much darker than I realized, and my lashes and brows are basically black (without the B&W filter). My natural lip color is rather pale, so wearing a bold lip is such a huge departure from what I look like without makeup. I feel much more comfortable in an understated, natural lip color, letting my eyes be the star of the show.
I totally relate to the pale lip color, so any bold lipstick is really different than my usual look. The majority of the time I like to make my eyes the star of the show as well, but it can be fun to do a darker lip every once and a while!

I have found that I like an orangey or coral red more on me than a blue red. With my pale skin and blue eyes, it really pops.
I’m the opposite and I have your coloring too! Blue reds look better on me! 😂

Lindsey have you tried the Saie liquid blushes? If you have do you think it's worth the price. I heard it's less pigmented than the Rare Beauty liquid blushes which I like that. I'm really fair with cool undertone. I thought of trying the shade chilly.
I did try them when they first launched but it's before i started using more cool tones so its one of their warm peachy shades, chilly looks so pretty!
