    I'm considering buying this kayak. I'm a novice and have no clue about kayaking but you did an amazing job

    Thanks for sharing this! Would you consider adding links to the products you used? I'd love to see exactly what you used and where you got them.

    Nice job on the pelican. I also have the same kayak and liked what you did with yours. Keeping it simple and efficient.

      Hey thanks for the feedback! Feel free to share how you mod yours. I'm always open to new ideas. Currently trying to figure out where to mount a fish finder.

      Hello again.
      Your Paddle Keep, did you buy that as a kit type of purchase? Or did you buy the cord, mounts and assemble it all yourself? I found that Amazon has a number of sellers selling these cheaply as a kit type dealy, but the reviews are dodgy with many saying that theirs failed within hours or a few days of installation.
      Could you point me in the proper direction please.
      Thanks you,
      Grant

      Hey there, I bought the kit and assembled myself. It was easy to install. If I'm remembering right, I think I bought the Field & Stream Kayak Paddle Holder Cord Kit from Dicks Sporting Goods. No issues so far.

    I like the Kayak, hated the seat so I cut it out and replaced it with a store bought seat.

    Is drilling holes into the frame not risky? Do you use any additional materials to keep the new holes water tight?

  • @BassFishingWithTKHeaven

    Great job man!!! I’ve also used the well nuts and are happy with them. I thought about that anchor system as well, but decided against it for now, just not needed yet.

      Hey thanks! I read somewhere that you hooked up some electronics to yours, did you mount a fish finder on your kayak?

    I have the same kayak. Just got an anchor trolley system. Long shot you'll reply but how did the anchor system end up when installing it as low as you did

    Very cool! I am looking to add some updates to my own Mustang 100x.
    Did the 8 inch YakAttck Gear track mount flush?
    Also do you think it would handle the Omega Pro™ Rod Holder with Track Mounted LockNLoad™ Mounting System (RHM-1002)?

    • @leetfishing5966
      @leetfishing5966  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi @LearningToFixIt thanks for your comment. Yeah the gear track had no problem mounting flush against the kayak . Placement options were limited because of how beveled the surface area is. The only thing I hate about where I placed mine is that sometimes I scuff my knuckles against it while paddling. Other than that it works great. And yeah I think it would support your the Omega Pro Rod Holder just fine. If you end up modifying your kayak let me know, I'd love to see a video how yours turns out.

    What’s that blue stuff you replaced your styrofoam with? I’m thinking of removing them and stuffing it with pool noodles.

    Have you had any issues with the rope shrinking over time? It seems pretty tight already in the video.

    I have this exact kayak, and am genuinely curious. What would you say is the best things to keep in the little front storage? I can't seem to figure out what to keep up there, so generally just put my anchor there.

      Just got mine in the water for the first time last weekend; I put my stringer & Leatherman tool in there. Seemed like a good idea... until I got it in the water & realized I can't reach the front storage compartment when I'm in a sitting position 🤦

    Does the back storage area behind the seat fill up with water ? how do you get rid of the water if it does?

    • @RPG_RicePaddyGod
      @RPG_RicePaddyGod Před 2 lety

      Some water, but not much. Unless your stroke is really aggressive. Sponges work. I keep one in the cockpit.

    What size well nuts did you use? M4-M5-M6?

      Hi James thanks for the comment. If I'm remembering right I believe I used a #10-32 tpi 5/8" brass expansion nut from Home Depot.

      Hello, thanks for your comment. That's actually the factory seat in my video. The backrest is slanted forward.
