  • It's nearing the end of January and after suffering a recent arctic freeze, we are starting to see some new growth occur on both the in-ground fig trees and those in pots.
We prune each tree to achieve optimal shape and to provide the tree with the optimal sunlight for energy to achieve its best growth possible. We also show how we use bamboo stakes to train limbs to grow as we desire and to shape the tree as we see fit.
After we are done pruning the trees, we take those cuttings, label them, and then proceed to plant and set them up for rooting.
Our rooting technique is simple and straight forward and we have achieved 95% success with the method we use.
All items seen and used can be purchased at any big box retailer and are readily available for purchase so that anyone can start rooting and growing their own fig trees.
    Thanks for watching and enjoy.
Note: Every tree on the homestead was rooted from a cutting or air layer here on the homestead. Current fig varieties we have and grow are listed below.
