- In this episode, Sherri talks about her recent trip to Dallas, Texas where she attended the ModaVation quilt retreat hosted by Moda Fabrics. At this retreat, Sherri was privileged to teach a class and give a presentation to quilt shop owners from all across the country. She shares all the details and happenings of this wonderful retreat for shop owners and Moda fabric designers. Sherri and Chelsi then do a mid-year review of their 2024. As busy as this year has been, Sherri and Chelsi feel good about what they have accomplished so far and plan to accomplish even more for the remainder of 2024.

Thank you, Sherri, for sharing details of the ModaVation event. Speaking as a consumer, I love the idea of the designers sharing directly with shop owners. If information about designers future sew alongs, projects, and patterns can be shared with shop owners prior to their fabric order dates, that helps everyone have a better experience. Shop owners will have the opportunity to be better prepared and consumers will have an easier time gathering their required supplies. It’s a win win for everyone. Thank you all for what you do for the quilting community.

I LOVE strawberry lemonade fabric. I have several different cuts. I’m hoping to get the hexi cheater on the reprint. Looking forward to the new fabric line that you will be releasing.
Thank you for sharing the Modavation I love to hear how all business work together and share how to be successful and grow your business. It sounded like so much fun, tiring, mentally and physically exhausting but what a great wealth of inspiration, information and success!!

Really happy about the Strawberry Lemonade reprint. I have a fat 8th bundle and now have some more preordered. Its a gorgeous fabric line, wish I had at least a yard of everything!
Life can be so jam packed with things and kids and spouses and everything, but when you can squeeze in a moment of nothing but something... yea thats where life is joyful. I love doing the nothing but something vacations.

Oh that’s a really great idea about letting shop owners know ahead of time about quilt alongs and such. So many times I will ask and they have no idea. What a great business builder for both sides. More ideas, more support, more involvement and feedback = more participation!! I find that so many local shops have NO internet presence or just no knowledge of how to get themselves out there. We just had a local shop DOWNSIZE! I was shocked, but I look around and think…”gosh I KNOW this fabric or that is so in demand, and you aren’t able to reach this huge sea of customers and future quilters.”
Whatever could happen to help get the connection can only help build! ❤❤🎉🎉

I love a well organized event. When there is no time to daudle and there is planned out minute to minute activities, it truly turns out to be a great event. I don't like going to events and end up sitting around like so what to do now? Guess I go back to my room or guess we can walk around. I can deal with a 20-30 minute open moment but when its longer than that and nothing to do during that little moment. MODA knows how to plan a party.

I am currently working with the Magnolia pattern too. It is lovely and found it to be a good pairing with an Eleanor Burns (my quilting hero) line I bought when I visited her shop. I’m liking the large block concept which is a bit unusual for me. Very nice!

Living in Switzerland I can’t imagine living with so high temperatures
So happy to hear that Strawberry lemonade is reprinting soon but its very unfortunate for me because I can't find it here in Portugal. I have to go online in the UK to get that. I have strawberry lemonade jelly roll and charm pack but I haven't got the pattern for it.
After hearing about the car you got in Lyft, I had to laugh. We had 5 adults to be picked up, we requested a larger vehicle to hold all of us and a Tesla coupe showed up! He said he easily carries 9 college girls to concerts! We still laugh about how we were in a clown car!
Texas sized “comfort plus” should’ve been a limousine! Lol
