Quick Refashioned Denim Jacket

Thanks for tuning in. Today's transformation Tuesday will show you how I transformed two pairs of jeans and one denim jacket into a Denim Jacket With Peplum. My inspiration came from a photo I saw on Pinterest.
Supplies you will need
Two pairs of denim jeans
One Denim Jacket
Matching thread
A seam ripper
Scissors
Pellon pattern paper or tissue paper (optional)
pen/pencil
Sewing machine
Chalk or fabric marker
Straight pins
Patience

I saw another CZcamsr hammer the thick/multiple layers prior to sewing. It helps to thin the fibers.

Use leather needles or heavy ball point needles. I inherited my aunt bettys industrial seeing machine. But my machine guy passed away now searching for a new repairman.

I'm getting ready to do something similar to a "pre-owned" cropped denim jacket I bought on ebay. 4 needles... yikes! I'm a compulsive needle breaker to begin with, even when I adjust my tension and use the "right" needle for denim. I'll do my best to avoid this. Thanks for a great video!

Yes of course. there is a no sew option. You can use fabric glue. I'll provide a DIY soon

Love it!! You have inspired me to make one,….I have a few questions….why did you attach the second peplum after you washed them and not before? Did you match up the jacket and peplum darts? Did you add the dart to the second peplum too? Tia

Thank you!! I would love to see your finished product. I decided I liked the design of two layers instead of one. I didn't add darts at all. Just cur the curve to fit the cropped jacket.

Did you use needles for denim? If not this might have prevented breaking needles

Yes I recommend using denim needles and thread. They work great
