Bev Moser sit's down with John Anderson to visit about his new project GOLDMINE and get's the inside scoop on how Merle Haggard called him up after writing a song that he thought John should record!
Sadly true among alot of country fans, but as long as I'm able to sing and walk on a stage he will be appreciated for sure! I love his unique sound and songs. He is definitely one of the Greats of Real Country Music!
It’s 2020 now, I am 36 years old, and I grew up listening to John’s music. He has a voice like no other, and I still love him today as much as I ever did!!
I agree with you there. This man's voice and his style of singing is very unique. The way he sings can make you feel like you were there when the song took place. The way he appears in these interviews makes him seem like he could start a long conversation with even a stranger and make it feel like he had known you for several years. He seems like a very nice guy and someone who is really down to earth
John Anderson Is the real Goldmine! I've always loved his music. So underrated as a REAL country music artist. You know who he Is the Instant you hear either the start of the song or his voice. God Bless You John Anderson! Thanks for all of the great music and getting me through some hard times.
I'm Johns 2nd Cousin. Amazing artist!!! I remember when I was 10 or 11 years old mom n dad and myself went over to (Junior and Juanita's) Johns parents house, John took the time to show me a blue electric guitar he had before taking off to band practice. This was in Apopka FL shortly before I believe he left for Nashville. Didn't hear much for the next couple of years until he released a 45 with (Swoop Down Sweet Jesus) on the A side. I think this was around late 1979 or 1980. Then of course shortly after he exploded on the country music scene. I've always admired his song writing and vocal talent. Wish more people where exposed to this extraordinary gifted musician and man.
I am John's ex next door neighbor when he lived for nearly a decade at his cruddy mgr's house Ed Morgan, after swoop. If you know him well, you know his opinion of that song, nuff said. Ed Morgan, Irving Tx. I roadied dallas and ft worth clubs and played along during practice occasionally (very quietly). Went to school with the she devil, Bev that was his succubus for a short time. John has ALWAYS been glad to see me, wow my daughters with invites and meets, and to this day, can amaze me by picking them out of a crowd. This was when Vernon and Gypsy were his guitarists. One day, went over to visit, and get some air, that was free of my parents, (who always griped about the band practicing next door, 'TILL HE HIT IT!). Said he had signed with warner, I think it was. They ordered his choice of guitars, he specified Martin d35 with brazillian rosewood to seal the deal. I now own a Kazuo Yairi brazillian copy of this. Martin factory burned after his order was placed, he freaked because all of the brazillian burned, but they called him personally to say his brazillian wood had already been pulled prior to the Martin factory fire, so he got one of the last brazillian Martins of that era. One time he came back to town after hitting it, asked me to watch the guitar while he went out on the town. Said "watch it close! I mean take it to the bathroom with you!" Y'know, my Dad must have called the irving tx pd near a hundred times on John and Ed. Even so, John was always, ALWAYS! very very courteous and cordial, to a fault! And it was wierd, so was my dad, to John. He loathed Ed Morgan, John's band mgr and landlord and our next door neighbor. You may quote me, John is my Brother, and he calls me brother as well! Steve Lawrence
I was a JA fan from the start. when my wife and teenage kids heard Seminole wind they got on board and we all still love him. Good man and a Godly man.
For me and my kids, it was Swingin' I live just outside of SLC and got so lucky a few years back that John happened to be performing 3 hours away in Jackpot, NV. I'd never before heard of this small casino town. The casino showroom, Cactus Jacks, probably held 100 people. Half seated, half at tables. Quite possibly the most intimate performance I've ever experienced with such a legend. Worth its weight in gold!
John I've been a fan of yours for year's glad that your music stayed the same over the years, a great song writer an singer thank you for your music....
Love John Anderson and Joe Spivey and the John Anderson band. I have had the pleasure of meeting them. They are really great people and so down to earth. I have listened to them since day one and will do so for the rest of my life. Country till I die ❤️❤️❤️
John Anderson, a great interview. You a great "every man". Come to Marion Illinois. You could be the headliner of the year but we have some great shows here.
Mr. John Anderson you are a very intriguing good man. My life choices and likes of music would not be the same without you. You are all in your own and in my favorite Top Ten in my lifetime. Don't make em like you anymore that's for sure an certain. God Bless you and keep you.....
Thank u so much for your great music and your band. You gave a free concert in crestview florida a long time ago and drove the crowd wild all the way to the end.Played for over a hour and saved Swingen to the end and everyone went crazy.Thank u very much
He seems like the kind of person who could sit down and have a long conversation with anyone as if he their best friend and had known them for several years. His tone of voice is very distinct. The way he sings could make you feel like you were there when the song or story was taking place. He is really great
Indeed a national treasure. I love his music, the singing and writing which for me has a spiritual component to it. Most of all, I admire his humility, a great American gentleman who shines always. I'm a serious fan. The man is a national treasure. Listen to his music, and you'll know.
Superb country singer with unique style . The first album that I first heard him was "I Just Came Home To count The Memories" I still think it is one of the greatest albums I ever purchased .
John Anderson , an American song writing gold mine . Vintage style country music is what makes me love country music .the new stuff really rubs me wrong . Here in Carolina , we love you John !!!
As a fellow Floridian I always loved your style and music. You were a musical influence for me and I miss hearing you on the radio. Millions of us long to hear real country from the Artists that have made country music from Hank Williams SR to George Strait and Alan Jackson. The record labels have abandoned us for this pop country. There is room for both but if you watch these award shows they seem to be doing everything they can to remove the country from country music. Get the word out and your fans that love you will buy your music.
This goes out to John Anderson my favorite is yellow Creek you're singing about my ancestors it's a true and beautiful story to me it's bittersweet it's a Irish didn't come over here and get with the Cherokee Indian in Tennessee I wouldn't be here love you very much love all your music to me you will always be number one

John Anderson,, I love you and I love all of your music whether it's Chicken Truck or Your Lying Blue Eyes,, I love your voice♥️ and John,, you are truly country! That's what makes us love you♥️
Once I was a small time musician in Macon, Ga and had the privilege of working with Murray Price. A few days ago I was thinking of him and was able to find him on CZcams to my amazement. I remember you from way back then but had never laid eyes on you for some odd reason. When I saw you performing Working Man Blues and Old Chunk of Coal from 1982 I fell in love! Then I said to my husband, "Wonder what he even looks like now?" Then this interview appeared next and I've got to say, I'm still in love! The interview is wonderful and I was particularly pleased to hear about your friendship with The Hag, as I have always loved him! Glad you're still at it and I hope you don't stop anytime soon. Good luck and God Bless!
Yes a truly unique voice and an ordinary guy. And gotta love that accent and his spirit of gratitude. Thank you John. Yep, Jesus' birthday. Gives your song, "I will cross o'er the river" special meaning. Again my hope is that before you "cross o'er the River" that you cross o'er the ocean to Western Australia for a concert in Perth.
I have always liked Mr. Anderson, I like him even more after seeing this interview. Good honest, humble folks who are thankful for the Lord's blessings are the backbone of this country. There ought to be more like Mr. Anderson.
