A lot of respect for him as an actor. I hated his character, but in a respectful way. He is a villain, but unlike the thugs from Fung Hai. He had his morals and his pride. Like he said, he is a bad guy believes hes doing the right thing, he is a hero in his own story. His intensity and performance on the character was beyond professional. PLEASE LET IT BE A SEASON 3

I agree. Even though it is a villain and has his problematic traits, you can also see his humanity and his motivations for doing what he does. That's the best way to write a compelling villain.
Dean was simply outstanding playing his role. Warrior is an outstanding series.
He was brilliant. I totally forgot that he was in GoT too!

He just extenuates the accent, otherwise it’s actually his real voice.
I said it before and I'll it again,,,no one else on this planet could have played Leary like he did.
Warrior will get a season 3 and I hope Leary survives the whole series no matter how many seasons they do because without Leary it wont be warrior.

His fight with Ah samm in s2 is the best fight choreography ever. Replayed it a few times. Warrior is a masterpiece!
This guy makes you feel his pain, right up until the moment that he does something completely racist, and then you want him to go down. Fabulously acted.

Please , can we see more of this talented actor . He plays the strong male role who looks after his Irish brothers. His boundaries are is own . What a role ! Very talented and nice looking . Congratulations !
Dylan Leary is my favorite character. So brutal and vicious! He don't need no fancy kicks just his own two hands and a push kick xD
Everyone gave a great performance. And beautiful fighting.
The character is a perfect example of how to write a "bad guy". All the characters in the show are bad people and murderers so it gives actors and writers ample opportunity to showcase a human story from that period in time. Very well executed and hope we get a third season! I'm telling all my friends to watch the show too! :)

Never heard of Dean Jagger (other than the actor he was named after, who appeared as the head bad guy in the 1978 completion of Bruce Lee's Game of Death) prior to WARRIOR, but he was absolutely fantastic in this series. I particularly loved the dialogue they wrote for Leary and Ah Sahm each time they faced each other, not to mention the fight scenes. Favorite show in many, many years. Fingers and eyes crossed for more seasons to come, should viewership rise when they stream Seasons 1 & 2 on HBO MAX, next month.
I am crossing all the things in the hope that they greenlight season 3. I would be very disappointed if they didn't! Also, thanks for the trivia, I didn't know about the 1978 reference :) Happy Christmas!

The character def puts a deeper spin on racism. Like its not about what they look like but pure survival. It still sucks but its a good portrayal that isnt seen often in the preferred black and white characterization of hollywood
Agreed. As Dean said, many would turn to this life if they were pinned in a corner.
It's a more honest portrayal of racism and racial tensions. In real life, racism often is about securing a better outcome for yourself or your group by eliminating outsiders.
@@dahuang6591 Thats why racism will always exist. It's hard to breed out instinct, we've been a tribal species for thousands of years. As long as there's a finite amount of resources to go around, people will try to take what they can for their people.

That was a great fight. I like the way that it wasn't one sides, each fighter went to the ground several times.
In season one two black guys walk into the Irish bar and you think he’s gonna kill em but he they were forced here in chains as slaves that they have earned their freedom, I think this show has so much depth when you think you understand a character he pulls you in more I think they nailed that scene.

About 30 yrs ago I was a bridge painter. Ya kinda gotta be a bit of a derilict to hang off a bridge in the 1st place. A few of my co workers were Irish from the other side. Bad assed hard working bar brawling types. Those were good times. Dean Jagger captures that so naturally. I Love that character ( flaws and all) and the way Dean plays him.
Yeah, I wouldn't want to get into a brawl with him! He's damn good as Dylan!

One of my fav characters, really! Yes Leary is a big racist and kind of a villain, but he played him so well that I liked him! Just his badass-ery, you know? That guitar/hard drum theme that comes on whenever he has a fight! His brutal boxing style! Loved it!🔥

Dylan Leary thinks he is a good guy, but the character 🤔 is very much hated because of his shortsighted outlook of the Chinese.

Yeah. That sucks. Right now there is hope (slim) that once the first 2 seasons land on HBO MAX they might want a 3rd, depending on how well it does. Issue with that, is that many have already seen it on Cinemax and Sky.

I hope this guy blows up. I haven't seen a character this complex in quite a while. I wasn't rooting for him to win against Ah Sahm, but I wouldn't have been disappointed if his character came out on top either.
