No a downfall more like an ego check he’s been the guy for a long time. People treated him like he was a Norse God or something. UFC casuals are up and down just watch their reaction to DDP vs Sean bout in January. Some how Israel will be in the conversation even then. The whole Alex situation is a result of biting off more than you can chew. He cared about the fans back then and never turned down call outs or fights, Alex used that opportunity to the fullest extent. I do believe Alex if he didn’t get fast tracked to a title shot he would have still been a contender for the MW title eventually. The way things are playing out for Israel is great DDP or Sean will lose major stock unless the fight somehow becomes a competitive draw. Alex won’t be able to fight Hill for awhile and he’ll be 38 real soon.
