As per income tax act 1962 share income on sale before 1 year is called short term capital gain.
Sir abhi government NPS account khulva Rahi he ( compulsory for govt.employee for pension ) Jo totally share market par dependent he to kya ye Rule no.16 ka ullanghan nahi he!
By default only 14% of NPS corpus is invested in Equity based etfs or mutual funds. Its completely on pensioner's descrition to increase this parentage to a maximum of 75% . The rest is invested in risk free instruments like G-secs, and debt funds like liquidbees. So it can never be 100%.

This rule is from central civil services conduct rules 1964 and it clearly use term speculation. If anyone has good knowledge of market he can invest in that market. This rule will not stand in judiciary as it uses highly ambiguous words like speculation, long term and short term investments etc. which is not defined precisely.
