Super big shout out and thanks to Avion Studios for sending over their incredible Retro Flyer preamp for Fender Rhodes! In this video, I walk you through what the instrument sounds like before and after, and what the features are of the preamp. It's best to listen on good headphones or studio monitors to hear the difference, because the difference can seem a bit subtle. As a player, it makes a huge difference. The unit really "opens up" the sound of the Rhodes, as well as giving it a huge boost of gain before hitting your studio preamp, pedals, guitar amp, or whatever you're monitoring the Rhodes through.
