- After a 3 year Absence, we finally have the spectacular Naoum Oneissy returning to the Lebanese Hillclimb scene alongside his incredibe BMW E30 tuned by Mazen Zgheib. Powered by a highly tuned 3.0 version of the M3 E46 engine ( destroked S54 unit ), it is now producing around 440Hp at 9.600Rpm to move only 1000Kg.
Not one to let time affect his capabilites, Mr. Oneissy fought right away for the win at Roumieh Hillclimb being beat only by Roger Feghali (more on that later...) by a minimal margin of around 3 tenths. Road was pretty much purposefully built on 2017 ;)
Wow that de stroked s54 is making some serious power. My e46 M3 is making 368 to the wheels tuned by a guy from Lebanon. He was able to get 48 hp more than the tune that was on it. Mine has a csl airbox catless headers and a set of more aggressive cams. As soon as a e85 station opens locally I will put a e85 kit. Should get 40 more hp at the wheels than I am now. I upgraded my injectors with the cams because if I had run stock they would have had to run a 90% duty cycle so they had to be upgraded because of the cams. Now they are 35% duty cycle at maximum power also upgraded the fuel pump when I had to replace mine. Put one in that’s capable of flowing enough for e85. Fuel mileage will be horrible but if will make good power. I didn’t get the car for economy. All M cars have an oil temp gauge in place of the fuel economy gauge. If you want economy get a diesel. Also was able to safely raise my redline to 8600 with the upgraded rockers and valve springs and other valve train parts.

Sounds amazing..wish my S54 went to 9600rpm :-( - I can tell you that was not a cheap engine build to get those 1700rpm reliably. Great driving!!

The amazing thing is that even a stock engine should be able to handle that and I’ve had my redline at almost 9k before but now it’s getting a turbo
Straight 6s can rev higher than a v6 . This is because the crank has less rotation mass which means it can rev higher than your average v6. Its not uncommon seeing a bmw 6s, jzs and rbs spinning 9k revs
Vac motorsports has an s54 swapped e30 that's de stroked that hits 10k rpms, the less stroke the less force required to rev that high and the safer it is
Dreamland Skateboards not much use in that though because you still can’t make much over 400 with any n/a s54

Man you've just got to love a beefed up valvetrain to get those revs paired with the ITB's!!! I say throw a nice undertray and splitter on the front and a more aggressive rear diffuser on, and that thing is damn near perfect! Boris Said is one of the drivers?? Hes a hell of a threat behind the wheel. Man can really handle a vehicle. Thanks for sharing this! 😎👍

solidify the 3.0 S54 doesn’t exist. This is a destroked 3.2 S54. Every S54b32 have been delivered with itbs from factory even the “ USA “ spec m3s
sw4gr1d you are wrong, you are talking about the difference between an US spec “ S52 “ with 240hp and Europe spec “ S50 “ with ether 286hp or 321hp. the us spec was just a bored M52B28 engine with different cams & a single throttlebody. The S50 is a completely different engine to the s52. It had itbs from factory.

The sound coming from the engine bay reminds us of the racing heritage of BMW, as the E30 platform is one of the most succesful race cars of all time across all forms of motorsport.
I watched Joachim Winkelhock drive the E30 Schnitzer Team Motorsport BMW to victory on a authentic street circuit beside the harbour in Wellington New Zealand in what was the Group A Touring cars, i think. Anyway he was up against the late Peter Brock driving a V8 Holden. Also present was the now legendary Godzilla Nissan GTR and a whole lot of other race hardened drivers from Australia, New Zealand and abroad. The E30 was a superior machine driven by the superb skills Winkelhock and strategy of BMW.

That driver gives lessons to all of us how it is done. A legendary car like BMW M3 E30 needs a driver will nerves made of steel and reflexes faster than light because it is known all BMW don't lose grip easily but if they do it's gonna be bad. That car seems to be grippy but then again it's a racing car with racing tires and suspension, gears perhaps were conventional but the engine sounds like a beast

Nice vid, nice car, but you should buy a 306 Maxi. It revs higher, sounds a lot better, and it is faster.

440hp at 9600 out of a 3.0l engine? What fuel is it running? I calculate only about 390hp at 100% efficiency at sea level. Has it got nitrous or something? And at that altitude only about 350bhp at the top.
