Shanks and Mihawk were weaker then so you should imagine their duels now
Regarding the scars Whitebeard and Shanks talk about, it's pretty safe to assume that Whitebeard was referring to a scar Roger gave him at some point (that seems to be the obvious reason why seeing Shanks reminds Whitebeard of that scar).
And the scar Shanks got from Blackbeard could also originate from when he was an apprentice on Roger's ship and they had some fight with Whitebeard's crew. At least, we know that the scar isn't something that happened recently, since he already had it in Luffy's flashback.

no man, you're wrong at 1st point. whitebeard didn't refer to roger that gave him the scar. It's actually from someone else very close to shanks (hint: this person is also red haired) but I cant say it since it will be a huge spoiler if u know what i mean

Luffy is a rubber man, which means blunt attacks don't hurt him, but in the previous episode Garp was able to punch him and cause pain, because he was punching with the power of love - that is, he still loves his grandson and was just knocking some sense into him. This explains why Nami is able to leave bruises on Luffy as well.
No Garp is using armament haki, but nami punch is just gag joke it isn’t actually damaging him

These few episodes after post ennies lobby were the peak episodes of one piece at that time.
Every single time I see the mistranslated bit - it triggers me.. When Jozu said "雲。。いいえ。。天が割れた” or "Kumo... iie.. ten ga wareta"
He's not saying "The Clouds.. no.. the Sky split", he's saying "The clouds.. no.. The Heavens were divided", (天 being heavenly) which is far more symbolic than just the sky being divided..
I'm betting the translator probably did it because they were christian and didn't want to bring their christian vision of heaven into it and thinking it be sacrilegious, but it truly makes it feel way less epic to water down a translation like that.
The realization of "Buggy was in Roger's ship" is the funniest bit in this video lmao

About the warlord bounties, they have been frozen since they became warlords. So whatever bounty they have is what they earned before they became so-called allies of the World government. Also, bounties don't necessarily correspond to strength and power-scaling. It's an indication of the threat level they pose to the government in any shape or form not just strength wise but also intent and knowledge they possess. Awesome reaction, you guys!

Ah, this takes me back! Especially the Robin commentary... *anyway,* the arc _after_ this one has its detractors, but its actually my favorite. Besides the mixed blessing of coming immediately after one of the greatest arcs in One Piece, it was also very slow to officially be released in North America. The way the One Piece sub (yeah, the sub, *not* the dub) was released, a gap appeared between older subbed episodes and the most recent subbed episodes. It took so long for the next arc to be officially subbed, I ended up checking out the manga through my local libraries inter-library loan because I got tired of waiting. XD

I'm confused on how Coby started anything unless that was a slip of the tongue because Luffy set up Coby and also, Coby trained by "The Hero" Garp, vice Admiral who was on Gol Roger's case. Arlong got whooped by early game Luffy. How could Coby not be stronger than Arlong?
This is one of the biggest plot holes in OP, there was no need for him to lose an arm at all.
At that point he was already a legendary strong pirate, yet despite fozens of options he chose the one that nerved his capabilities.

Aokiji is less moral than Smoker; he's just traumatized from his experience on Ohara but Smoker is more willful than Aokiji ever was (his motto is "lazy justice") as you can see from Smoker's actions to the higher ups at the end of Alabasta.
