    Love the bins we have something similar here where I get things for 75 cents per pound...I leave with boxes filled with stuff...yes I wear gloves really gross but I dig for amazing treasures I pay 23 cents and sell for 39.99 and up! No rugs or clothing or fabric...bed bug central...I also spray the stuff with Lysol in my car.

    Bins is better for bread and butter sales where you could be selling stuff for only $5 plus shipping. Turning 50 cents into $5. But do that 20 times that's $100. I've also quickly sold a hat for $30. That helps make a trip to the bins more worth it.

    It’s interesting to see what bins in other places charge. Where I live all hard goods are 0.60 per pound ( including any media) and soft goods including shoes are $1.99/lb up to 50 pounds and then it’s only 0.99/lb! They let you combine carts if you’re under 50 lbs too. This is in Canadian dollars ☺️

    Something to be aware of with those crafting kits that have paints included is that if they are old, the paint eventually dries up even if never opened and the buyer may be requesting a return. Be cautious about selling new old stock that include paints.

    Near close check the bins near the check out line. “Throwbacks “ (it’s what I like to call em). Can be amazing I find a lot of game consoles that way. Our electronics are .69 a pound even heavier consoles like og x-box weight out just under seven. Most work 360’s especially the earlier model just a waist of money. So I strip the faceplate and hard drive ( which is missing 80% of the time. But power supply’s most under a buck. They are handy and resell well, just not for a lot.
    And media insane best game was samurai western ps2 flipped for 195, our games (Portland Oregon) our 2.30 but dig. That game started off was just cover art not in case in mint condition a miracle in a bin. Dig more found disc , and vice city stories case and manual so looking for game itself and bam manual complete game.

    I'm sorry but making $6 on a $1 investment is not "decent money" as you keep saying

    • @NewKing78
      @NewKing78 Před 3 lety +2

      Making 6 times your investment on a simple item is not "decent money"? This is how real resellers really make their money. Yeah, they will hit it big a few times, but that doesn't happen all the time. That particular item doesn't make much money, but you do that 3-5 hundred times a month, month after month. Of course, you are going to find items along the way that pull in more dollars at less ROI like turning $20 into $50 (equal to $1 into $2.50), but turning $1 into $6 a crap load of times is reseller bread and butter.

    • @rollingwithstones
      @rollingwithstones Před 3 lety

      @@NewKing78 Buying items for $1 and selling them for at least $15 is the low end of bread & butter for me as a reseller. I don't mess with anything for less than that unless it's multiple quantities of the same item. Selling a $1 item for $5 is not the same as selling a $10 item for $50. It's the same ratio if you're just looking at the numbers, but not the same overall ROI if you're spending the same amount of time sourcing and listing both. I would prefer to make $40 on one item over making $4 on an item even if the percentage of profit is the same.

    • @save2rave61
      @save2rave61 Před 3 lety

      I make both roi... but dvd media and games are easier to source , test, photograph , and ship. I’d rather deal with that. Than ship a vcr or list or test.
      I source my games and dvd for .50-1$ and always make 5-10$ profit after fees and ship.
      I source vcr DVD players for 2.50-10$.
      Sell them for 50-70$
      But testing. Shipping and packaging is a big expense.

    If you can find any (even older) Harmony remotes for $1 or so, you should probably grab it. Easy to program and great to pair with a component that's missing the remote to give better resale value. More expensive DVD/VCR recorder combo's like Funai, Magnavox and some Panasonics are a great fit for Harmony's.
