  • A Jamaican man was awarded $2Million US dollars for years of wrongful imprisonment in the Bahamas but it is the details of the horrific suffering that he endured and what happened to him that has left him scarred mentally and physically that is shocking to hear about. The court should have awarded him money than that, because arresting a person. Because of racism against Jamaicans in the Bahamas islands, I been there before traveling to England . Do you know Soufltv that the very first pm of Bahamas, his father was a Jamaican and his mother is from Haiti and. When the guy became pm of Bahamas, he started to rounds up the Jamaicans and Haitians and deported them back to their countries. So I know that the Bahamas government hates the Jamaicans people and Haitians people, so I not found to going there. When there is a lot of illegal immigrants from Bahamas living in the United States without paperwork, all of the countries in the Caribbean islands as a Commonwealth countries. They all hated the people of Jamaica and a lot of them living in Jamaica illegally and, nobody is troubling them. It is really tuff to keep someone in custody for 10 years without bail, because of racism against Jamaicans people. So I am glad that the court found the government is liable, by his stupid police officers them. It should be one million dollars for each year in prison, because they are too racist against Jamaican people. I know that you have a lot of cyber bullies from there, the last time I wrote a comment about. The way that they were treating the Haitians people them, when a the storm destroyed some little islands there. I would never want to left Jamaica for those poor country, because going there it is not going to solved your problems. Anyway I am really glad for the yard man, that the racist Bahamas government must paid for their wrongful arrest ok.

BTW Jamaicans cannot afford to boycott the bahamas, or no caribbean country with a good economy for that matter. When your survival is on the line, you learn to adapt and and deal with whatever is in front of you.
all the things that happens abroad also happens in jamaica, it’s just that other nationals don’t run to complain like jamaicans do. I don’t hear Jamaicans complaining about the People who get railroaded in canada, England and the United States, but God forbid it happens in the Caribbean, then all hell breaks lose, “these islanders this that and the other” certainly becomes the mantra.
Why do jamaicans judge other islands so harshly, but don’t have the same tempo for bigger nations, especially when these kinds of injustices happens every where on earth.
It’s almost like they’re saying, how dare these small island people treat us this way, it’s only big country folks could put us in our place.

This story actually confirmed what was said during the Paris 2024 Olympics qualifyer for the 4x400 relays. The championship held in the Bahamas was the last opportunity for Jamaica to be qualified but according to what was said, the meet officials deliberately entered only two competitors in the race when there should have been at least 4. This eventually led to the Jamaican team not to have a team in the Paris Olympics, the Jamaican national trials was the absolute finale for the country to be qualified and that was a bust. I have heard numerous times about the discrimination against Jamaicans living in the Bahamas and how the men in Bahamas treat single Jamaican females trash. I have seen it first hand in the workplace in New York but I thought it was due to the competitive field of nursing but now I realize it is something ingrained within them. It is very sad 🤦😠

Why do you think Bahamians hate Jamaicans. Jamaicans come over here and hate Bahamians. Jamaicans only come here for the US dollars. Am very sorry he went thru that.

I pray he will be in sound mind. The Bahamas should pay $1Million US for each charges and each year although money cannot bring back his integrity. The security force who did all these stuffs should also be arrested.

This is a paltry and insulting compensation compared to the lifetime damages to this man's life. The compensation has not taken into account loss of income - past and future. It is obvious that he never had good legal representation from the start. Why didn't his parents get good legal representation for their child? This matter is not finished. The Bahamian Government need to pay for their wrongs to this young man. This is bizarre. This man is damaged for life and he needs to be compensated as such.
