The ONLY one not being allowed to speak is the defendant. CNN, MSNBC, NPR and other media organizations have not had to "take the stand" to say whatever they want about the trial, including not even bothering to point out that "paying hush money" (also known as an out of court settlement + a non-disclosure agreement) is NOT even a crime. Stormy Daniels was allowed to publish a book about it.
