- Here's the Non-Scale Raftclans Auran from Kotobukiya's Super Robot Wars: Original Generations line! A very cool kit with some awesome weapons and gimmicks built into them - but also with a high price tag.
Big thanks to USA Gundam Store for supplying this kit! Check out their online shop and use coupon code "zakuaurelius10" to save 10% on your order! www.usagundams...

Thanks for watching!
Zaku, if I may, I highly suggest you watch Raftclans attacks video and certain aspects of the model will make more sense.
exactly a little homework wouldnt hurt
A shame we cant have the huge sword
@@ry0usama511 Yeah, but I think the would have to be kinda thin so it wouldn't be too heavy for the model to hold. Don't get me wrong, the joints are sturdy, but everything has a limit.
@@zetsugami00 I mean they did Sladegelmir sword anyway so.. Guess its just a matter of cost, the kit already more expensive than Slade without the sword
That part that goes into the chest is a cannon that is meant to be used with the sholder weapons. The opening trick the rifle has is for the Raftclans ultimate weapon. A giant crystal sword
Still looking for this kit, no luck :)
Hey Zaku,
It'd be great if you could do a review on the Kotobukiya's Knights of Sidonia kit, specifically the Tsugumori kit. I think it's a cool mech design that doesnt get much love from any other contect creator here!
I like that one~ if I get a chance I’ll pick one up sometime
Missing the giant sword mode!
So Gundam Wing had sex with Gundam Age... and thus, this kit.
ORGONE MATERIALIZATION!!!!
I never know this design exist until I saw it in Takayuki Yanase artbook and never thought we'll get a actual kit! Really tempting on getting one, I have a few SRW kits designed by Katoki (Exexbein and Galilnagant) which is awesome.
And, that shield really reminds me of the Kyrios shield, since it's designed by the same guy so...yeah. I'm glad that the shield claw pieces didn't open like it should, it would be very flimsy if they do so.
I think the opening gimmick of the gun/sword is suppose to be for the gigantic sword mode, like they turn the sword as big as skyscrapers
Get the alteisen riese
the head looks amazing, wether in design or execution, i'll take it as inspiration to sculpt my custom graze head :o
They better have a Giant clear part for the Final Sword mode ;3;
Yeah, for an extra price equal to one of your kidney
@@iqbalprasadana5208 id sell my whole body for it
oh shit you're during SRW kits now?
The great Rival for Zanger Sanvolt and his DyGenGuar
You actually can hold the sword vertically with no help from a stand at all.
Plus that gimmick on the shoulder to hand makes it slip free from the weight.
And another thing, no misscolors at all
Hey zaku if you like these kotobukiya kits I highly recommend trying out the armored core kits. Those things look tight. The articulation is kinda bad though but Armored cores dont move a lot anyway.
Meh I rather buy Muv Luv's
the claw shield reminds me one of the Testament Gundam's weapons.
Definitely getting some Deathscythe/Wing vibes from this in a good way.
when you're already play SRW J. you watch this video, and you know more about Raftclans.
me watching this video : 😏
For a second I thought this was perhaps the best AgeII Magnum custom I’ve seen yet
This would look really good in a matte coat of paint.
OMG, its cool kit and awesome weapon
Basically its from srw j and the latest reboot srw og moon dwellers
Check out Raftclans' attacks from Moon Dwellers on YT, that Peacock Smasher mode has a crazy gimmick to it that you've got to see!
Is this the robot main character's boyfriend's used?
This mech is designed by Katoki. The weapon of this do remind me of Crossbone Gundams and also Bloodborne trick weapons.
It's stuff like this that makes me wish it was easier and cheaper to find kotobukiya stuff where I'm from
I guess I'll be that guy.
If anyone is interested, here's footage of the unit in action in the game it's from: czcams.com/video/LYIy5S9qV2c/video.html
Anyway, at a glance, it looks pretty cool, especially with my untrained eyes. But it's a shame to hear that it's not exactly up to snuff in many areas upon closer inspection and for the price it's going at.
Also, as someone who is familiar with it, it does kind of feel incomplete due to how the Rifle can open up but there's no Colossal Blade part to actually go with it. I get that the part is too big and probably too heavy to practically pose with but still, it's strange to see it go only halfway like that.
Check the neck articulation again. There is another hinge in there that lets it look all the way up.
Here, have the link to the attack video. czcams.com/video/hoiCZExCFH4/video.html
Blitz Gundam + Epyon + DHC gundam = this
Its like wing raiser and deathsychte made a baby
I'm wondering why Kotokits are always so expensive. I mean for that price I was expecting way more from this.
Most of the time it's the licensing fee since Kotobukiya don't own the design.
Licensing fee, they didn't own the series right for the most part. Bandai owned Gundam's IP so it's waaay cheaper than anything that are non gunpla. It's not really fare to compare them.
License fee and they don't produce kits in as large numbers as Bandai does.
Also, Kotobukiya uses an additional baking process for their plastic to make it more resilient to solvent.
Not to mention srw designs are far more complex than a typical Gundam
I just look in youtube and in 10 seconds I found all the attacks of this robot in the game. The piece on the chest is a cannon. The attack is called Orgone Cannon! Basically he shoots from the chest and from the two lasers on the backpack rotated to the front. The shield that opens up is called "Orgone Claw". Etc.
Good job! Now you know! ^^
I was thinking about checking the kit out since I do like their armored core line but it costs as much as the sazabi ver ka? . Why does it cost twice the amount of Armored core kits? they're about the same size.
It didn't take more than a quick video search to find out all of this thing's abilities... including the fact that that open "crossbow mode" for the sword is actually the open hilt of a MUCH bigger sword
Sorry. But hey, now you know!
Hi Zach, are you gonna review Kotobukiya's Frame Arms Genbu or Max Factory's Soltic H404S Mackerel?
Don’t think I have either of those on my list
@@ZakuAurelius koto's Genbu looks nice. I'm curious about that model because it seems more like a Zeon MS than a Frame Arms.
Kotobukiya has improved this (SRW) series a lot over the year. This one is the best so far.
PS: no issue with the shield. Maybe painting it will fix it. I painted mine. Also, once you paint it, the joint will be VERY Strong.
Like I said, best to paint Kotobukiya kit
Painted my armored core and muv luv kits, they are still a bit loose. Maybe SRW and Zoids lines are just better
This is so so so awsome !
This is a kit that I'd love but.... I can always think of something thats better value for money. And I say that as a Koto fan I've got a few Frame arms and Armoured Core kits.
If I could request a Kotobukiya kit for you to try, I’d love to see you review one of the Knights of Sidonia kits. I’m a big fan of the manga and I’d love to get a kit for it but the prices for them, considering how fairly simple their designs are, always seemed a little outrageous to me. Maybe with all of your hookups, you could grab one for cheap? I’d love to hear your opinion on them.
Very pretty kit, would pay $90.
Ooooh.
I wanna get the Alteisen kit, and if this is any indication of quality, I'm down.
Oh also, if you can get your hands on one I'd like to see you review the Kotobukiya Xenoblade X Formula.
Get the Alteisen Ver.Progressive, I have that one and it looks way better than the old one. Articulation is very impressive as well.
I regret not buying this last christmas
What did you buy
@@Pterodactyll the MG Crossbone X1 ver.Ka and some Kotobukiya M.S.G. weapons
The quality does not justify the price.
IF Bandai don't own the gundam's IP, their model kit will be as expensive as this one. Of course, bandai quality is way batter than kotobukiya.
Khotobukiya is a significantly smaller company compared to bandai. Yeah, the price is justified.....
@@dol_mel7487 the size of the company has nothing to do with the quality.
While it's true that small talented team can make good design quality-wise, smaller company will always have their product more expensive than product of similar quality from bigger company. Smaller production capacity means higher price per item compared to bigger production run with same amount of materials. It's basic manufacturing logic. Bandai's pricing is actually insanely low by industry standard, we're all too spoiled by that.
@@cnhnx From my point of view the kits albeit good looking/detailed still have flaws that 3rd party kits have like sub par molding/needing to make parts fit etc which for me should mean a cheaper kit, they've been around for years now and should have enough money to give better quality or charge less at least.
No size comparison?
I was hoping to see a size comparison as well :((
I just saw a review online, it is as big as a metal build astray red frame
Yeah hopefully he will not forget it next time.
I said within the first two minutes that it’s the size of a 1/100 MG
I have just have realized after rewatching lol
I''ll just leave this here for those who want to see some animation on how this Mech is supposed to be... Also... That's not some crossbow form... It's the hilt to a Ginormous Sword...
czcams.com/video/hoiCZExCFH4/video.html
It’s a gundam! (Yes, it’s not a gundam but you know what I mean...)
The chest piece is called the orgone cannon. The raftclan is super robot version of a knightmare from code geass more knight like but as a giant robots.
wow, thanks for the nostalgia. gonna binge code geass now
Wait shouldnt that be the other way around since this came first (j) time lineish world?)
This is also a playable unit Mecha for Touya Shiun, and Al-Van
If I recall correctly Raftclans are not exactly your run of the mill Mecha. Visually they resemble Real Robot types (which are Mobile Suits and Kightmare Frames are) but really strong as Super Robot Type (such Mazinger Z, Voltron/GoLion, and Gurren Lagann) and as of SRW OG Moon Dwellers some of them are slightly different and armament.
You can always just watch Raftlcans attacks here in CZcams to see how it goes.
Great review as usual, Bandai could learn a few things from Kotobukiya in terms of color separation (I'm looking at you, Hiling Care's Garazzo). Let's try some Armored Core kits next time? :D
i get that if they put in the full effects part it'd like, have to be taped to the side of he box or something.... but like, i'm spoiled and i want it :
90$ JESUS CHRIST
Hey look, it's a gundam that's not a gundam
Is that a Gundam?
I think it's called "super robots war" or something but definitely not a Gundam
original generations
Nice gundam
The plastic looks like a cheap bootleg plastic
