  • In this video learn how to make a 100% Whole Wheat Bread without Yeast. This bread is a no-knead, no proofing bread, and needs no bread machine and can be prepared super quick and tastes absolutely delicious.
    Ingredients -
    Whole Wheat Flour - 3 Cups / 375g
    Baking Powder - 1 1/2 tsp
    Baking Soda - 1/2 tsp
    Salt - 3/4 tsp
    Olive Oil - 4 tbsp
    Honey - 2 tbsp
    [For Buttermilk]
    Vinegar - 2 tbsp
    Milk - 2 Cup / 500 ml to make buttermilk and ~1/2 cup / 125 ml extra to add later depending on your flour mixture.
    Method -
    Pre-heat your over at 375 F or 190 C.
    Grease your baking pan with some butter, sprinkle with some flour and dust off the excess, set aside.
    Add 2 tbsp of vinegar in 2 cups of milk, keep it aside.
    Sieve Whole Wheat Flour, Baking Powder, Baking Soda, and Salt.
    After 5-6 mins you will see your buttermilk is ready, now to that add olive oil and honey, give it a mix.
    Pour the wet ingredients to the dry, mix everything well. But don't over mix it. Now transfer the batter in a greased pan.
    Bake at 375 F 190 C for 40-45 mins or till a skewer comes out clean.
    *Note: You can make it on the stovetop too. Add around 1 1/2 cups of salt in a karahi, place a trivet stand in it, cover it with a lid and preheat it for 15 mins on medium flame. After that put the bread pan cover it and cook it on low to medium flame for approximately 40-45 mins. The total time might slightly vary for you, but you should get a similar result. Make sure to check it once after approximately 30 minutes so it doesn't get burnt.

      Thank you! You can add Lemon Juice instead of Vinegar. I have never tried it with oat milk, so I cannot comment on that. Milk and Vinegar were added to make buttermilk from it because we added baking soda so we need to add something acidic to it to activate it since no yeast was added. I hope this helps!

    • @therecipehut
      @therecipehut  Před 4 lety +2

      Viritha, generally to substitute yogurt instead of buttermilk equal quantity of yogurt is taken. For 1 cup of buttermilk, you replace it with 1 cup of yogurt. If your yogurt is too thick you can try diluting it a bit, the amount of water would depend on the thickness of the yogurt you take. I hope this helps!

      Hi Kavitha,
      I have never personally used rice bran oil for baking bread, so cannot comment on that. I would suggest if you can use flavorless vegetable oil in place of olive oil would be better, but if you want you can give it a try!
      Ingredients

      Baking Powder - 3/4 tsp
      Baking Soda - 1/4 tsp
      Salt - 1/2 tsp
      Olive Oil - 2 tbsp

      You can add an additional 3/4 tsp of baking soda if baking powder is not available. So a total of 1 1/4 tsp of baking soda would be used for the recipe.

    Thanks for the recipe. I followed the recipe completely but my batter was way thinner than yours in video. It took over an hour to bake and still was little raw at bottom. It’s more like a cake than bread.

    • @therecipehut
      @therecipehut  Před 3 lety

      Shweta, you're most welcome! Looks like your batter had more liquid than needed, that is the reason it took a long time to bake and still was a little uncooked. I hope that helps!

      @therecipehut  Před 4 lety

      You can substitute vinegar with lemon juice to make the buttermilk. Not sure about the cooker, but it can be made in a karahi. I have personally never made it that way, but you can give it a try.

      @@therecipehut u meant in kadai, how much shd it be preheated & how much time the batter needs to kept ?

    • @therecipehut
      @therecipehut  Před 4 lety

      Yes! Add around 1 1/2 cups of salt in a karahi, place a trivet stand in it, cover it with a lid and preheat it for 15 mins on medium flame. After that put the bread pan cover it and cook it on low to medium flame for approximately 40-45 mins. You should get a pretty similar result. But make sure to check it once after approximately 30 minutes so it doesn't get burnt.

    I’m curious about this recipe. It looks interesting. The vinegar and milk make the buttermilk. Interesting use of “buttermilk.” I usually only use it in pancakes.
