@@annadsouza6113 when i was diagnosed i was 8, but i was a short as a 5 year old and that raised concerns with the school nurse. thats how i started getting tested for a cause of why i was so short. To test me for it i remember doing blood work, MRI's, DEXA scans, X-rays and short synacthen tests. if you think you have hypopituitarism go to your GP and raise your concerns about your symptoms

Many thanks. For extra detail, I would add the Houssay phenomenom. This is where the diabetes of dogs without a pancreas improved with a hypophysectomy. If a diabetic has a reduced need for insulin, they may have hypopituitarism as there is reduced ACTH and GH and hence reduced corticosteroids. Worth noting that in your patients with acromegaly and diabetes, their diabetes may actually improve with pituitary surgery or octreotide.

Can hypothyroidism accidentally be misdiagnosed for hypopituitarism? (I had a closed head injury age 6(right frontal). Age 14 they gave me Levothyroxine til the present. (I weened off 2 months ago today...I feel great).
I believe they needed to treat (pan)hypopituitarism and not hypothyroidism. 🤔
