I had the pleasure of meeting and talking with Robert Parucha, Doug Davidson, and Jamie Lyn Bauer. Very personal and so down to earth. By the way, some of the photos do not match the narrative, and you speak way too fast. As a senior citizen it would be nice to see close captioning and have it remain on the screen long enough to read it.!!!!!!

A couple other families that have come and gone from The Young & The Restless or has seen limited screen time... The Winters family has mostly disappeared from Y&R, with the exception of Lily, and Malcolm returning every now and again. Olivia, Dru, and Mamie disappearing.
Y&R isn't the same without Neil and Katherine as their respective performers, Kristoff St. John and Jeanne Cooper, passed away in real life, and their characters were retired.
It would be nice to see Y&R bring back a character or 2 from the Brooks and Foster families for the 50th anniversary.
Nowadays, it's like the Newman, Abbott, and Chancellor families is what's keeping Y&R relevant.

Same thing with The Matthews Family on Another World. By the time the show went off the air in 1999, the only person who had a link was Steven Frame (Jamie's Son and Steven's Grandson). Also on Eastenders that debuted on February 19 1985 it focused on The Pauline Fowler (nee Beale) & Her Fraternal Twin Peter Beale and their extended Families. Now The only Fowlers are Martin Fowler, his Daughter Rebecca aka "Bex", who still never got over Stacey Slater. Kathy Beale, Pete's Ex Wife her Grandsons Bobby & Peter are the only Beales around.

Why did the original Jill and ashly leave the young and the restless

No like from me. That was Janice Lyn who played Leslie Brooks. Jamie Lyn Bauer played Lori Brooks
Some stuff was right and some stuff was wrong.
Brenda Dickson was OG Jill and Jess Walton is current Jill.

Are there anymore true working class key characters on the show?

I’d rather watch the old re-runs of y & r now rather than today’s show. The character developments are way off & the current string of “bad guys” are paraded in only to kill them off just doesn’t flow well imo.🤦🏼‍♀️ I began watching briefly when I was in grade school when we had early-release day. Those were the days.😃

Agreeable! The old re-runs had a special charm and the character development was so much better.
