How good it feels when someone who has contributed so much, still believes that simplicity is the best thing to have, sir your way of thinking about Mathematics is so motivational and so simple. Looking forward for more videos and some guidance from you.
Heartiest wishes again ✨🙏
CLEVER FORAMT: Very nice open questions that are neither stupid nor too general yet understandable by the layman. The answers being on a par makes this a great video.
When will the full interview be uploaded...eager!
I'd like to see Richard S. Hamilton and Ingrid Daubechies win the Abel Prize.
"Simplicity is a big thing"!
I haven't won anything since leaving high school. Man, the real world is tough.
His saying that counting is a fundamental shows that it's not a concept of math but rather a natural concept.
That's how counting came about (presumably, who really knows for sure?). One can imagine two primitive people looking at three rocks and then three bones, and then saying that there is a certain correspondence, there is a "sameness" about them. In that correspondence you define what "three" really means.
