Thanks for posting this; I have been enjoying your videos, and at age 61, I'm thinking of doing my first local race mostly because your videos make it look like a ton of fun. I've spent the winter training and slogging through the brutal rain, mud and morning frosts, but having a blast with it all.
I hope you do it. I’ve recently started and the mountain bike race community has been really awesome
@@peterjrudge P.S. I also followed you on Strava. Cheers.
What a fun easy race :D
Peter this is the 3rd video of yours that I've. Love to see ya dicing with the competition in the technical sections. You seem to excel in the dryer rough, than like this where it's long fast trails.
Thank your for taking the time to make these videos. My first XC race will be the Mudslinger next weekend. It has really been fantastic to see what I can look forward to. As long as I am not too gassed, it looks like fun!
Enjoy it! @mudslingerevents1354 puts on great races. I won't be there this year but say hi to Team 10 Barrel for me!
How did the Mudslinger go? Looked like the weather was cold and wet.
@@peterjrudge All of the single track was a few inches of goop and there was a dusting of snow at the high point. In other words, it was a blast. I ended up in 5th out of 15 in cat 2 40-49 and have vowed to get more aggressive tires before my next mud bath.
This is AWESOME! Thank you for sharing. Too bad I live in South Florida. There are no mountains here.. at all! The highest point is either a landfill or an overpass, LOL!!! 🙂
Thank you for posting! Glad I didn’t cause a problem when I made two passes around the 8.3 mile mark.
I just finished listening to your recap of the race and all your pedal issues. Very entertaining 😂. Makes the win more impressive. Nice work!
Thanks for sharing. Now I know what to expect at Echo Red in 2ish weeks. Are you participating?
I’ll be there!
What a day! It was so fun to see the turnout and the trail was a blast.
Having the map and stats on-screen is awesome!
Any idea how much elevation gain there was?
I’m guessing around 1500ft over 24 miles?
The race map on trailforks lists it as 1756 ft
The main thing is not the victory but the participation ?...)))
Great efforts out there!! STEADY!
Thanks 👍
