If ditz and cuntz die I'm gonna be so sad, the heroes of this playthrough
Every time Tom builds a grave pit by the side of a road I just think "That crossroads is gonna be sooooo haunted"
Roadside graves were a Roman tradition.
@@lics01 Every graveyard I've ever seen has been next to a road...
@@liastaob they weren't grave yards but individual graves. They did tend to be clustered near entrances to cities but that was so more people would see the monuments thus ensuring the departed were not entirely forgotten even well past the time anyone who knew them in life were also gone.
What a stunning thumbnail image! Really enjoying these Tom! Keep 'em coming!
Tom and the Battle Bottoms
Does game might repeat the same issues that Timberborn had when it comes to regions, where most players would rather have one big region rather than several separated regions.
Except that in Timberborn that was a (now optional) system, in this game it’s representing a fixed fact of manorial life - that too many people in one place was just not easy to sustain - and it does this by spreading out resources.
Sure, you can use farms to support population, but that’s also fair, accurately recreating the (incredibly slow) growth of real towns, as long as they allow for the construction of all the more complex and detailed parts of a local medieval economy.
It’s *really* nice to see the pressures that literally shaped my home town (which consisted of a high street and two side streets, along with connecting roads, and then long thin burgage plots running from the high street to the back streets at their rear, as it was a pre-designed model town) in a game.
@@TheHorzabora my problem is that it seems to just be "sorry lads, you can't share eggs with the guys on the other side of the road, they live beyond this invisible line, thus they are a seperate town." Instead of an organic implementation of why feudal towns were like this
@@Speederzzz You need a guy to transport the stuff but they can share resources then.
This series is going great Tom. I'm loving it so much.
9:58 - Mayor Tom used negotiation with the townsperson. _It was super effective!_
Man really wish I could play this already. Kind of annoyed its not on steam for another week.
What does tom have against rallying his retinue. 5 dudes in good armour can take down 10 shittily armoured brigands
He only gets them after the large fight ;-;
Was literally just thinking this. "Oh, it's only 5 guys" he says, fighting 10 bandits.
You need to set your units to not be in run mode before combat otherwise they don't regain fatigue or w/e it is I'm pretty certain which lowers their effectiveness drastically.
Some great stuff in this one. That battle was pretty intense. Well played.
Daily reminder that Tom is an amazing person and to thank him for all he has done/will do - Day 1600
Oh damn, I was sure Middleton Way was going to fall, especially with so much stacked against them, but low and behold they managed
10:00 God damn the way he did a 180 and skedaddled got me XD ha ha my god
Ditz may be the prize boy, the cream of the crop, the survivor, but noone will forget Cuntz, the peoples hero
Awesome stuff Tom, love the content!
Did anyone get assigned to actually mine the iron?
I am pretty sure he has not assigned anyone to make ingits hahaha.
loving this series
For sure go back to Foundation after this.
Since the devs are gearing towards official release, it'd probably be better to wait for that first.
@@EeraschyyrYeah no point to revisit until full Castles are added
Loving this series Tom! you've convinced me to buy the game when its released :)
7 seconds ago? Gleaming I'll take that. Love this stuff
We need more!!
0:09 The name of the ox 💀
Id rather stay a bottom than start middling!
*Tom loses half of his village in a fight against bandits*
"Why are my peasants not building?!?"
different village, homes
@@spongmongler6760 His men came from all his towns, homes...
@@FindTheFun his number of troops never changed since the first village, they spawn at the first village.
and that's besides the fact that the village not building wasn't attacked, it was the other one.
He also didn't lose half his village, only half of his militia. He could only recruit 20 guys because he only had 20 sets of weapons. It showed he had 118 potential recruits at 2:50, meaning he only lost 8.47% of his male population 🤓🤓

For anyone brutally obsessed with hardcore manorial warfare and society I strongly recommend Schwerpunkt's videos series
Er… is this suppose to end just as Tom is building extra markets?
And, in the long tradition of backseat gaming:
The completely non-diversified burgage economy is really painful. I get Tom isn’t the most hardcore gamer, but this is one of the longest playthroughs with an entertaining presenter…
… and then that combat. Oh dear.
