If you think about it, the idea about Krampus turning you into a snowman is still pretty freaky. In the warmer days, you're gonna melt to death.

He did not turn him into a snowman per se, but I do agree (in a scene from the movie Krampus one of the snowmen actually does look like one of the main boy's cousins, the boy cousin not the girl cousins, which is very scary in itself). The boy here did get off easy though compared to what other kids went through in fictitious works with Krampus.
What is scarier though is this. J.R. Park did write a short extreme horror titled Christmas Wrath (2016), which has a much scarier outcome with about a same aged boy. However, it had nothing to do with Santa or Krampus, or even something parents did or even the sun, but yes it is gory.
