    Pro tip, Do not stick anything in between the frame and the pan that holds the tire as its lifted up. If the jack fails, Youll lose your hand or whatever is in between it and the frame.

      @usmanalinotlate in the video the guy should have put his hand in from underneath the frame to put the safety pin in. Not between the frame and pan. Because the hydraulic lift mechanism can fail at any point.

      Safety Note: Whenever Driving a Car Up on Car Ramps Frontwards or Backwards to Raise the the Car you should always have the Drivers Door Open, then Hang out of the Door a Little Bit, this will allow you to "Visually See how far the Car is Going Up on the Ramps" helping you to see that the vehicle doesn't "Drive off the Ramps..!!!!.... As seen in the Video on the Passenger Side of his Car he "HE ALMOST DROVE THE CAR OFF THE CAR RAMP" which would have been "VERY UGLY"..!!!!!!!!

      This would be a little bit of work but cheap insurance.
      Have a welding shop weld in some bolt down tabs on the corners, position the ramps in the garage, drill holes in the concrete, tap in some lag anchors and bolt these puppies down so the ramps never move.

    You actually should release some pressure to rest the car on the metal pins after you get it where you want it. That way its less change to snap them in half since its already sitting on them.

    Ordered a set of these off amazon, one of the jacks was leaking, the instructions were severely lacking, and they wanted to slide out from under the vehicle. To solve that I mounted a 2"X2"X4' long piece of angle on my concrete driveway that the back of the ramps will rest against. Amazon is sending me a replacement jack, but I have decided to not use the factory jacks, and instead use pneumatic jacks instead. I'll use a splitter on my air line, that way I will be able to raise/lower both jacks at once.

    So when you almost overshot the ramps, the ramps front part came off the ground. If your jacking the car up and it were to roll just a little further back, I would imagine the ramps would lift off the ground even higher and more than likely the car would slide off and defeat the purpose of working on your own vehicle (saving money). This is all IMO of course.

    • @guestguide2544
      @guestguide2544 Před rokem +3

      That's what can happen with the plastic rhino ramps also, if you go up a little too far the back raises and the whole ramp collapses. For plastic ramps, the Harbor Freight ones are probably better as they are more solid plastic whereas the Rhino Ramps are made to store inside each other, so hollower and will bend easier.

    • @bobbyz7736
      @bobbyz7736 Před 3 měsíci

      @@guestguide2544 I bought a pair of those Rhino Ramps, I really don't trust them, What could go wrong, made out of genuine plastic right? Trying to use them on our garage floor with rear wheel drive car, the damn things slide, just not good for me. I think I need to drill in some 1/2 inch bolts in the floor to bolt a 2x4 crosswise to the car and then rest a ramp in front of it, to help with sliding. These ramps look like they would work well as long as you dont overshoot the end .

    Hmm, the problem I see is if you wanted to use this for any engine work, it's not going to happen on a car with how high those ramps are. There's no way the front lip could clear that, most barely (if at all) clear those gray plastic ramps, and these are quite a bit taller. You could stack 2x6's or whatever but that gets kinda tedious. Feel like it's fine if you have lots of ground clearance or an SUV or something, but not so much a sports car with a front lip.

    At your own risk, but, ..... If your drive wheels are going up the ramp (Front wheels for FWD, rear wheels for RWD) power brake your way up the ramp. (Rely on the brake, NOT the gas...) (apply brake, give it enough gas to get up the ramp while holding the brake, then lighly let of brake to climb the ramp, using the brake to stop instantly when needed.... WAY safer than using the gas alone to climb the ramp and hoping you hit the brake in time...) Somebody just about had a very bad day....

    This guy is a nice person trying to help other, but he is a liability. First, he over shoot pulling onto the ramp- if you don't know how to du it, just lift the car with a jack and place the ramp under. Second, he put the safety pin at the wrong location, the pin is supposed to go in the pinhole, not on top - however that is bad design as you have to set it right on. Third, you need to rest the car on the pins before working on it - that way your stand holds the car and the jack is your secondary safety.
    Thanks for the video anyways.
