I'm back, with another video from The Last Kingdom to close off the year!
It was an awesome year for the channel, and all thanks to you guys! We reached 900 subs on Christmas day and will hopefully reach a 1000 next year!

I was almost mad at uhtred for not kissing her back when she kissed him. They would make a very good couple and you can tell thier love is genuine
If series 4 follows the books then Uhtred and Aethelflaed will become lovers.

that one i'll give hi because she caught him off guard. he definitely enjoys flirting with her because he takes her comment about skade's beauty and turns it around on her with that smirk. and i think he knows she has a crush on him and obviously respects him, but i don't think he knew she was going to kiss him. you can also tell by him rubbing her hand that he's contemplating her - i don't know what aspect- but it's definitely about her. then the next day in the stables i think he might have kissed her except that skade had already done her damage. or without skade he's still dealing with the loss of gisela. but then again....he didn't seem to mind making out with skade too much. so.....

Her name is Aethelflaed, not “Alfred’s daughter”
Uhtred has feelings for her, feels confused at the moment (mind confusion said by Skade to Uhtred about Aethelflaed) because he lost his beloved wife recently and respect her too much.
He was afraid Skade would destroy everything he cares for. He rejected
Aelthelflaed's kiss but he had tried to kiss her. Uhtred told Aethelflaed about the kiss "I would enjoy ..." he didn't want to hurt her.
She has qualities that he admires in her. She is a warrior, kindness , her support to him and he respects her. They have a beautiful friendship. I think it starts to grow something intense between them.
They smile when look at each other. There are chemistry between them.
Uhtred Ragnason worries about her safety and life.
Endangering his life and breaking the alliance with his own dear brother to save her from Dane and her evil husband.
When she said she would rather die to save her military. Uhtred was angry.
He gets pissed and defends the princess when someone offends her.
In the book they were lovers.

And I think, the character Hild was much more beautiful and well cooked in the novel.
It's so heart wrenching to see how she loved Uhtred but when she saw Uhtred's affection towards Gisela, she started to keep distance from him and never expressed the pang she was feeling.

I really don’t understand why people are concerned that a love relationship between them would weaken the characters. In the books, it gives both of them much more strength and works perfectly. Well, I hope for season four. And no, Aethelflaed is not going to die only because she has an affair with Uhtred. She is destined to Archive great things, history has a good place for her😉.

I dearly love this show! I didn't know about it 2 weeks ago. A co-worker, told me about it. I've binge watched all 3 seasons. I'm waiting impatiently for season 4. The storyline sucks you in. To the point where I'm yelling at my TV. For me, there are many reasons . It's incredibly well written. Pretty damn close to historically accurate. The group of actors, are incredibly talented. The scenery is beautiful. So are the actors!

I am rooting for them in Season 4. I was so mad when Skade ruined his kiss with her. I truly believed that he would have enjoyed in that moment being with her but he did not want to see her hurt especially after Erik and the curses Skade was throwing around

@@margowarren6099 Yeahh,, no he's definitely a player! Lol cause , it's not like he's a mind reader to know that bad things are going to happen to them! Take his first wife for instance, who he had a child with, (lets not forget) he just left her with no excuse but, the fact that he felt like cheating! He's quite impulsive, I've learnt and makes decisions based on how he feels regardless of consequence! (That's just how I see him, you might have a different perspective but as long as we're both enjoying the show)!

Everything about this is wrong.
Firstly if by ' just started' you mean 'been available for over 5 years' then yes your right there.
Secondly I've read every Uhtred book and seen every episode, there is not one single occasion when Uthred cheats on any of the women in his life, infact given the time period, it is pointed out on more than one occasion how loyal and fair Uhtred is to women, unlike many of the other characters including Alfred.

GilxSullinger Uhtred’s daughter chose to go with the Danes. Uhtred can’t even stop her from leaving. And Uhtred doesn’t want to rule Mercia cause it’s still gonna feel like he swore another oath to a Saxon King. Whereas, Aethelflaed is Edward’s Sister and they can be both Equal rulers.

initially even before they took wessex i tot something was wrong for his army to stay in mercia.
uthred has done so much for christianity but none of them rewarded him with anything.
coccham was something he more than earned and i would say uthred is under valued and paid for his rewards.
uthred name and title itself detered so many danes from attacking christian kingdom.
GilxSullinger Yes I agree that Uhtred was unappreciated and he didn’t like Edward so more reasons to not want to rule Mercia because Edward will just use him as a puppet ruler. Uhtred is such a good man and he knows that Aethelflaed is the rightful ruler of Mercia. Cause Aethelflaed did a lot to save Mercia and she always has good intentions for Mercia. It just sucks that they won’t let her rule unless she remains chaste. And besides, Uhtred needs to take Bebbanburg back. Uhtred is not much for politics and he just wants what is rightfully his own which is Bebbanburg.

I agree with you, but we still don’t know if it is Erik’s daughter. I don’t know how they will depict Aelfwynns Character, but in the books she is clearly Aethelreds daughter. Uhtred says that she has the beauty of her mother, but the mind of her father because she is very stupid and only looking for fun🙈😅. He still likes her.

Well that's a thing now yound women tend to get attracted to older men.
In season1, 2 Uhtred had sex with every women which appeared on the screen. It was made in the base of the books. I was boring from the point of the series. The battles were ok. The intrigues were ok. Only romantic/emotional part was without suspense. Gisele (exception) and later , in S3 the not fulfilled endearments made the story more exciting.

I really liked her. She was clever and tactful.
Yeah, she should not have died and neither Thyra. They both had suffered from so much already and deserved better.
The problem with Gisela was that her character was never interesting enough and after she had delivered a family for Uhtred, her death was a way to progress the story and Uhtreds character development. Was still shocking. In the books by the way it is Aethelflaed who tells Uhtred about it and is holding his hand on the battlefield of Fearnhamme after their victory. She and Gisela are best friends in the books and she cries too when she tells Uhtred about her death.
@@romaaugustus1694 Can you tell me if we ever get to learn about Uhtred's children? They have been completely ignored so far, and I want to see him being a father. Alexander Dreymon has said as much, when asked if he had any advice for Uhtred.
these are two power house characters who are better off as friends. not lovers.
They can be both, as it is in the books: Best friends and lovers.

It’s a lot, but I’ll try my best😉: Uhtred and Aethelflaed actually have a love affair after Uhtred rescues her (would’ve been around epis. 4/5) which continues for a long time and has big influence on the story. For example Alfred gives Uhtred in the end Land in Mercia, next to Aethelflaeds estate to bind him to the Saxons. Uhtred fight mostly for Mercia in the 6th book.
Aldhelm remains evil end gets killed by Uhtred when he tries to force Aethelflaed in his bed (approx. eps. 4)
Ragnar does a lot later peacefully in his bed, most likely with his sword in his hand. When Uhtred leaves him, Ragnar forgives him and tells him that he will always be his brother. Brida instead hates him and becomes his enemy and doesn’t change her mind like in the series.
Alfred is not present at Beonfleot, but Aethelflaed is and Steapa commands the troops. Edward is present and fights well, but doesn’t command. In general Edward is a much weaker character, who is under the influence of priests who hate Uhtred.
Skade does a lot earlier (would’ve been epis. 5/6) and Bloodhair (!) kills her with a knife. Bloodhair gets killed by Uhtreds men in the same scene. Skade and Haesten actually become lovers, that is also why Bloodhair kills Skade. Cnut and Brida have no connection and Cnut is much nicer and honorable.
I think these are the main, story changing points. All in all I prefer the book version, but I still love the series. Looking forward to season 4.

And in the books Uhtred actually has sex with Skade multiple times, but they already become enemies again before Uhtred goes to rescue Aethelflaed.
I'm not too thrilled on how her character was portrayed. She's supposed to be fierce and not easily get smitten by the men who rescued her.
*Just watched this show. Uthred and Aethelfield's loyalty to each other, even without romance wouldve sufficed to move the plot but the writers decided to destroy a well developing character and now she's just this girl with a mighty thirst swearing an oath to some warlord/widower's dick. Its hilarious.*
