Salvatiom to me was also better then 3. 3 was almost a copy and paste of 2 but done in a horrible way. Salvation was done really nice and moved the story forward.
I think C.Bale role in that movie was really good, really fits the war theme of the movie also the proto terminator and kyle roles were really well done
Salvation had the most sense of realism, great casting, great sound design, and great design in general. So much potential, all it needed was a good story, screenwriters, producer and director.
@oddist almost all, they got the world building, visuals absolutely perfect and the cast as well. The movie's story reminded me of Winter Soldier, LOTR, Day Of Future Past and Fury Road. It can go to the caliber of those movies with the right screenwriters and director. Add more logic, reduce the overdramatic and dont ever repeat throwminator cus that shit is pure retarded.
Terminator 1 has most realism, casting and sound. It was the one that make this series iconic, I disagree on casting Christian Bale as Jhon Conner he looks nothing like a person who is surving in apocalypse.

The first terminator is much scarier. Not only because he fights on the “wrong” side, but also because of these non-digital effects. Therefore, it is much more lifelike and scary that it really looks like a machine that appears in human form.
Exactly, this is why it's so terrifying, practical effects are so much more believable
The atmosphere, the music contribute as well. T1 is a horror sci-fi movie, the sequels are action comedies.

I've met a lot of people who can't stand it because of diverse casting, politiq, and a majority female cast. Please don't be one of those people.
I think that take is a bit ignorant of the fact that James Cameron has always had an affinity for rather blunt politiq, and strong female characters and leads, and 100% Mackenzie Davis gives a standout performance as such.
Terminator: Salvation was undeserving of the hate it got. Though it didn't have its strong points, I admire it to this day, because it tried to do something different. It tried to stand out from the other terminator movies, that have constantly used the time travel plot device; where Skynet sends back a terminator to kill the main protagonist, while the Resistance somehow sends back a guardian to protect said protagonist. Salvation gave the fans what they wanted - a future war where man fought machine. It wasn't perfect, but compared to T3 and the sequels that came after, it was the best after T2.

The 1984 effect may look fake, but it actually makes the terminator look more terrifying as the 1st was more of a horror movie than action. The plastic animatronic look really tells us how robotic and non-human the T-1000 is. It's scary.

i dislike the ending tho of him having to kill himself, can't he just pop out one of his power cells he got 2 of them for god thanks and throw it down their, then you got to ask why did the turbine explode its not like their was any fuel in that area for it to explode into a ball of flames, and you can't tell me that the plob 2 feet of steel holding the turbine in place can't handle the stress of having something thick in its blades or how about the blades that are a foot thich how couldn't they deal with a extra 400 pounds of metal. and don't move turbines nowadays have computers that detect that type of issue and shut them down before too much damage is done.
I dont understand why Salvation is so underrated, for once it was the war and not time travel after time travel after time travel... it was a breath of fresh air and I enjoyed. Shame it never had a sequel and however we got the horrendous genisys and the even worser dark fate.
I also love the fact its made in 2009 I thought it was newer than that

I do not understand the hatred towards Dark Fate, it is literally the best between T3, Salvation and Genisys, it was quite entertaining and recovers the essence of the foreground
T2 combat, just because of the death of John Connor everyone burst into tears, (a character who no longer deserved to be in another movie due to his horrible later adaptations), it was exhausting to see that character again, the Rev-9 was not bad , Sarah and Grace were perfect, the T-800, although it was not Arnold's best role playing a Terminator, I feel it was good, the only thing I can agree that it was a bad decision is the character of Dani Ramos, it was horrible ok, but it has many more hits than cons :/
And Dark Fate was still as much as a bomb in every department, putting the final nail in the coffin.

T1 was one of my childhood horror movie, the movie was released on 1984... but the first time I watch it as a kid it literally terrified me...
The series ended for me after T2. To say "the 3rd movie let fans down a little bit," is a huge understatement.
Anyways I liked the anematronic scenes especially the eye scene of 1984 more than the modern CGI, I felt it's real and horrifying

I always felt like The Sarah Connor Chronicles was the best idea after Terminator 2. It expanded the idea of Terminator as the entity that is capable of feelings and emotions, that we had seen at the end of T2. It also made a look into how John grows up, overwhelmed by the burden od loneliness, misunderstanding and never ending danger from Skynet and Terminators, until Cameron shows up. The relationship between Cameron Phillips and John Connor is one of those things from Terminator franchise that deserved so much better in terms of insight and development. John's love interest in Kate Brewster felt too plain, because I think they were actually pushed to be together, when relationship of John between Cameron in TSCC actually has a profound story and great potential. John is her teacher in understanding humans and Cameron teaches him, what terminators are. Also the ambiguity of their feelings is blessing and curse of the TV series, because everyone rooted for them to be lovers, especially when Riley appeared, but obviously...no season 3 to unveil what was most anticipated by thousands of people - seeing John in unconditional love with the very thing he was born to destroy. This is actually so poetic and tragic! At least it's my opinion.

I hope it will be back as sci-fi horror, because only then was the best. Nothing against T2, but T1 was the scariest, which I really love.

I honestly don't know what people have against Salvation. I love having one different entry in the franchise that let's you see more into a post Judgement Day world. Plus the soundtrack was a 10/10

I loved salvation but I hated the plot armor. When the T-800 had his hands on john he just kept throwing him around. Thats just lazy directing and writing. I feel like they could've improved the scenes where John continued fighting and getting into tighter spots so the terminator struggled fighting him as he couldn't see him through all the heat signatures. Also the scene were Marcus was just casually standing there when the T-800 had the cinderblock in its hand. He just stood there and took all of it to give John time to set up bombing but he could've just done that by actually fighting back.
Besides that I loved the movie. I liked it was in the future war. I liked Marcus Wright as a terminator but hated how they showed off in the trailers. I think if they made a smaller trailer and kept the fact that he was a cyborg would've been much better.
Terminator 4 Salvation was actually pretty good, I certainly enjoyed it. The movies after that were the purely bad ones.

Yeah salvation was much better than any of the others after the first two. It’s the only other one I can rewatch. Judgement Day is my all-time favourite movie. Seen it over 100 times easily and still get goosebumps every time.

Salvation brought the series in the right direction, but not everyone was ready for that. After Salvation no other Terminator movie was made. There were 2 failed attempts though.
T2 the best overall out of the franchise. Comedy, Character Development, Introduction of an Enemy Terminator(Cop guy), and sad Ending with terminator killing himself

You know what…I loved salvation, and it’s better than the last Two TERMINTOR movies. There, I think we should stop hating it, sit back and give it some respect. We should stop copying T2 every time (yes, Terminator Genisis and Dark Fate were just doing the same thing T2 Did but worse! I loved the new future war because it’s something that we the audience have been teased a million times and we finally get to see it! Sure, the story was ruined by the trailer but I think it holds its own with the action and acting.
Rise of the machine really isn't that bad I don't know why folks hate it so much Salvation is way better than genysis, now in terms of dark fate I'm not really convinced even though James Cameron is involved it doesn't feel the same I feel like it's to late now there just trying to squeeze everything at once

T1 had this thrilling experience of being absolutely helpless against a non-stop killing machine. Despite its lesser special effects, the metal skeleton was really scary at the end scenes.

Terminator was an amazing franchise from T1 to Terminator Salvation, but with Genisys the once mighty giant became an embarassment from itself, however Dark Fate finally gave the unglory and unfamous death it didn´t deserved, James Cameron and Tim Miller ripped all the dignity of the franchise and killed it for the sake of political correctness

Terminator 4 is better than 5 and 6. I loved post judgment day, it’s under explored. I like the first t-800 being unleashed on John as he tries to save his father, who doesn’t know he’s going to be his dad 😂. Very interesting scenario, with a nude Arnold kicking his ass 😂

For me Judgement day and Genysis are my favorites. They feel exactly like what a terminator movie should be, its weird learning that cameron worked on dark fate because i didn’t really care for it. I honestly thought 3 was much better lols
I enjoyed terminator, t2, t3 and salvation. I liked the action in dark fate and that's it. But I think salvation was a good continuation. The old 80s style made the terminator seem real because if you think about the terminator didn't have real skin or real anything so it went well with the time. I know the terminator Arnold was playing was more advanced and looked more real but I feel it still worked well. I also enjoyed the stop motion at the end made it scary.
