Many city folk tend to think that animals in nature are starving, that they need to be fed. They don't understand how wild animals live, that they need to live naturally, that being fed by people endangers the animal's freedom by way of teaching it dependence on man, and that it also presents dangers to the animal and to those around it. If they are old enough to have gone camping with their folks in national forests back in the 1960-1970s, they would have heard the Forest Rangers say *_a lot_* that "a fed bear is a dead bear" because creating that association between man and food teaches the animal to seek food from people, which then endangers both. As a result, the bear would come around people, and the Forest Service would have to relocate the bear further away, and after the bear would still come back, they often had to put the bear down. Don't feed wildlife, keep them wild and free! Respect their wildness!

Coyotes will stalk, hunt, pets and small children. They are pack animals, so if you see one, there is most likely several others around. I live near them too, and quite a few of my neighbors carry a firearm while walking their dogs just in case which is a far better idea than trying to feed the coyotes. It truly stuns me how dumb some people are, this is just common sense living in the desert. What's next, "Karen found dead after attempting the feed the rattlesnakes." Usually coyotes and rattlesnakes are where the jackrabbits are around. Jackrabbits are the main food source for both of them. Please don't invite the coyotes into the neighborhood, I'd rather bag one on a hunting trip than bag one trying to eat my dog.

@@tapewerm6716 around my front patio I had installed last year a 7 ft fence so my little dogs can go out to the door and potty. It's good enough for them to do a quick run outside. My main property is fenced by a 4 foot one around my one acre property. When I see the coyotes in or outside the main fence going after the wild rabbits I run them off with a bat. I know their animals but I just want to scare them but if one turns on me then it's lights out for them. Fortunately in my six years living here I have had only two occasions of doing this. I guess they find an easier place to hunt. My two little 12 pound dogs are trusting so I have to do whatever I can to protect them. Plus when I hear mine hit the doggy I put the camera on. But it's not only the coyotes people around here feed the wild horses and donkeys. I believe the wild animals need to be left alone with the exception of humming birds which can be feed for our love of nature.

Animals observe people when we don't realize it, they see us when we don't see them, they *_are_* around even when we don't see them, so they will still see a person leaving food out there, thus still making the association between man and food. It will still draw them down towards man's habitats. Respect wildlife's wildness, keep them wild and free!

Lots of problems with coyotes and human pets all along the rapid development area of Blue Diamond Road...also, lots of imported exotic animals people abandon when they leave - all of a sudden you have too many peacocks - a big fat coyote, obviously fed by humans, took out the alpha male peacock who was exhausted by summer heat in my neighborhood in Enterprise - coyotes are predators and they are NOT impressed easily by humans. In another Vegas neighborhood with wild peacocks, someone got their bow and arrow out and killed the alpha male that way - did they ever catch who did that? Peacock poop on the car is a major trigger to violence for some people, I guess...
There is no worse environment for peacocks than a desert...read up on how peacock poop, as a fertilizer, led to fields of unique blue-green lawns surrounding estates in France, back when...open fields of grass and wooded areas is where peacocks add to natural splendor...

There's no harm in leaving food for wildlife, but for predator species, you cannot leave food where they see you doing it, otherwise they will make that association to people. And these animals should not be fed near public places, like parks. And people who feed feral cats in urban spaces contribute directly to this problem, because the coyotes will show up too.

Simply telling people not to feed wildlife doesn't address the underlying reasons, as many do it out of kindness without understanding the potential harm. Instead, we need a two-pronged approach:
Comprehensive education: Inform the public, including children, about the negative consequences of feeding wildlife, like dependence on human food, aggression towards people, and disease transmission. This could involve engaging educational campaigns, school talks, and informative signage in parks and nature reserves.
Safe animal interaction: Provide alternative ways for people to connect with and appreciate animals responsibly. This could include organizing visits to sanctuaries, supporting ethical wildlife documentaries, or hosting educational talks with wildlife experts.

At least 14 children were killed, and 19 other children were injured in leopard attacks in five years in the Tanahun district here in Nepal - in addition 6 men and woman were killed.... But we can not kill the leopards. I'm making a small eco-resort here and the first thing I made was a big enclosures for my dogs to keep them safe

Thank you for the report. Very sad.
The last Grizzly Bear from California was killed in Southern California in the
1930’s. They occupied almost half of the USA. Our ancestors knew what they were doing. Today, that wouldn’t be allowed. 😳

Our wildlife is doing without food and water more than ever in addition to these housing developments in their natural habitat. Feeding these animals isn’t a good idea it puts them at risk including their young where the coyotes deserve more respect for what they serve as natural balance even on behalf of humans. Who is accountable for these who’ve been euthanized and bread isn’t a food stability… Better yet is for humans to stop encroaching on their and other wildlife habitats

They outlawed hunting them to keep their numbers down now they are over populated and ran out of rabbits to eat. Children are at risk the hare brains who allowed this to reach this point need to be sued!

Over populated? Nah. That's now how it works. Learn about coyotes bro. They control their litter size in accordance with their habitat. A lack of rabbits would mean less coyotes. You can't cull coyotes dude. That's common knowledge for people who live around them. Maybe you just want to play hunter boy.

If people are feeding the Coyotes the animals are not at fault. i love these beautiful, intelligent, mystical beings and feel terrible; 10 Coyotes murdered just so that some selfish people who want their place in the hills can invade the home of wildlife. What 99% of people don't realize is that if the Coyotes were there first, they simply stay, that's THEIR home and they will NEVER leave the area. Don't blame the Coyotes, learn to live with them.
