Great Video mate, it's a real shame the council wont sell the land, I think a petition to the council would be a good thing, Porthcawl is about to be ruined and Barry could cash in massively, We love Barry as it's easily accessed by public transport, We usually park our car at Rhymney train station and get the train to Barry. We need the steam trains back as well!
The twister ,as a kid you could not get me off it .loved it . Deffo camping park for Barry ,it makes sense. DGLOS !
I don't think there is enough land left to develop it as a holiday park but I certainly don't like how it has been left and currently used as a car park. You also need to consider the residents on the estate and any impact on them or their properties. That includes you and your family Steve.
100% need holiday accommodation on the island. I remember years ago Rick Wright from Barry Island resort wanted to build a touring caravan park on the headland but the useless Council rejected. It was criminal to build houses on the headland, which is the only headland in uk that has residential use
I've been watching pt vlogs for a number of years and I'm so glad you had words with yanto to give paul a memorable moment. Why do they have a new sizzler when it's run a lot slower than the one by top scan.
😂😂Some serious rides in operation on the fairground nowadays makes the rides I worked on in the early 60s look tame by comparison

I worked for butlins at 3 different camps and unfortunately it has change it is not like the hay days but something is need in Barry my favorite place gov polls is the place to go to.

I personally would love to be able to stay on the island, not having done so sunce tge mid 80:s. I guess you as a local resident who would be most affected by any such development are happy with it? If so, I would struggle to understand how the council could go against building accommodation on Nells Point...
I hope Steve gets it and keeps it as it use to be as the new style butlins isn’t as good I use to go to Barry island every year loved it

It would be fantastic to have a holiday camp back at Barry island we would definitely come back as we use to come every year when Butlins was there get a petition going
Most of the land of the old place now has houses on it, it would be an incredibly small camp if they use the car park space, plus would cause disruption & noise pollution for the residents on the rest of the old site! Added to the fact it would create more trouble regarding parking on the Island, which is already a nightmare!

Great catch up Steve. Surely Henry must have a councillor on his side . The old Butlins site is the perfect location. It's a shame Henry cannot do a deal with the council to purchase the Butlins site and do something they would like on the other site. Don’t know what’s going on in wales. This introduction of 20mph roads and the tourist tax I think will kill the Welsh economy. I hate to say it but I’m glad I moved out of wales a few years ago. The Welsh government seem keen to take the country backwards not forwards.
It would be a dream come true to have that area back as a camp, full of fun & happy times, I loved the camp when I was a kid, seems rediculous why a grey gravel carpark cant become a colourful happy destination for holidaymakers..
Im up for doing anything we can to make it happen & sounds like a lot of people are too 🎉 bring it back 👍🏼✨☺️

I think in my honest and humble opinion that Barry Butlins HAS to be brought BACK. The fairground ¿has now been reestablished, now all we need is what looks like the obvious choice for Dante and his crew and the public also. Yes, I remember the mid 70's and 80's when Barry Island Pleasure Park was a bustling area and the long-gone Butlins. Get it back on the map guys. Love the vlogs, Mr. D, keep em coming and make our day an awesome one. All the best guys from sunny Peru S.A.
Would 100% be great to have back, however with the ridiculous modern society and NIMBYs I foresee all those people living in the houses built on the back half would fight to stop any development. Sad how this sort of way has become a thing in modern society! I still say worth trying!
