Hello! This is Renu, a kannadiga(madhwa bramin) from Bangalore now living in New Zealand. I'm A fan of your cooking and oyur channel . I'm so glad you briefly gave information on Hayagreeva so well. We need more people like you on CZcams. Thanks again and kind regards from New Zealand. I often make Hayagreeva at home here. But I add 1 or 2 tsp tsp of khas khas seeds till lightly golden and add it right after adding the cooked channa dal. Adding khas khas really lifts the flavor and also it is the authentic way we Madhwa brahmins make the recipe.
Thanks a lot for sharing Renuji
Great! Got the shloka and the picture too!!! Thanks
Loved your explanation of the festival and offcourse the sweet recipe
So nice
my favourite Iskcon Dikhsha name is Hayagriva.....all glories to Lord Vishnu

🙏U are a Bhandar of good recipes and information. Thanks.....
Lovely saree 👌
Glad see you do this hyagriva recdipe. I am more happy you are giving irrai(Gid) along with Errai(food). This is very important value education we lack these days. If you don't mind I would like add to the story. Hyagruevar used to enjoy this ptasadam in the garbagraha. The oakashale bhattars and other assistant pujarus doubting Sondhe Vadhiraj Swamy one day miced poison in the prasadam. And on that day the lord completely cleaned up the vessel not even leaving a single channa dal.. Swamy was surprised as generally after hyagruevar taking a bit of the offering would leave. The remaining prasaf would be shared amongpriest and devotees. The cooks and pujarus understand the Almighty's intention and fall at the feet of Vadirajar and ask for oardin ing their mistake.. Meanwhile the Hyagruevar idol turned blue doe to poison and this disturbs Vadirajar and the lord aoears in swamys dreams and asks him to offer Gulla neivedha(a kind of Brinjal) till the poison is removed,.The Sondhe area is famous for Chennai dal as well as brinjals.!!!
Mam please impart such informative valuable stories along with our traditional festival good. Thank you. I simply Love you presentation and English..

As a kid I never liked paysams! But now I want my kids to have them for their nutritional value. Lol!
Hayagreeva is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu in the form of a white horse. Chana dal is a favourite of horses and hence this prasadam is offered - made of with jaggery, etc., looks like halva or poornam,
when thickened!
Thanks
