  • I love my Little Labs Redeye(s) so much I have two. (One passive, one Redeye 3d which is active)... But the Redeye are more than "just" a DI... they're great preamp boxes... they split signals.. they're great. So much so that I use them all the time and having to always be switching between DI/Reamp and using both units to split out to two amps was getting old.
ENTER this BAE PDI. The outer casing looks like it's from a company from Canada who makes DI's that are "built like a tank", that sound great to boot. Eh.
How does this BAE do compared to the Redeye I hope to free up from being the DI/Splitter of my electric guitar/bass guitars?
Oh yeah, I have NONE, ZERO.. ZILCH of a connection with any company mentioned here, or else wise. I made this video to share what I discovered testing these pieces gear I own and purchased myself. I get no compensation.. dude, this channel isn't even monetized! (yet... subscribe so I can make bigger better more vids!)
    Thanks,
    MARTY

Yeah I feel totally fine with using the BAE and leaving the Redeye pair I have for permanent reamping devices.

I love my redeye(s)… but I use the bae and not the little labs anymore. I feel like it’s a sleeper for sure!
Thanks for watching and the comment!

@@SHUTUPANDRECORD i am currently looking to add a good DI box to my collection and i stumbled upon the BAE. It seems like a great unit, though i am not dure if it can outperform a HI-Z input onm a high end interface or preamp.

@@ThornWithin here’s where I’m at with that… I have a great river and ThAT kills on DI bass. Just great… lots of times it’s busy on something else… I swapped out the Redeye(which is what I used when GR was on something else) for the Bae.
When it came to mix it was such a fun thing to realize the bass was just sitting perfectly. I can’t explain with words how it differed to the Redeye, both sound great… but it just didn’t need attention. Solid, thick, clear, muscle… anyway… I don’t even think about it anymore. I do use the GR when it’s not busy and I don’t need to send anything thru to amps… but I don’t sweat it. In fact, right now I have my GR up on reverb because I have this idea I want to get less complicated and move my preamps all to 500 series… I would never have considered that if the bae wasn’t just solving that issue for real, for me. *I have been sending the bae into a rascal audio two V and absolutely just giggling because it’s as good as I will ever need.
This being said. I probably won’t sell the GR because it’s so awesome. Haha. But more for the insert on it (that the 500 series version doesn’t have) than the bass di!
      Annnnnnnnd I’m rambling!

@@ThornWithin oh the other thing that really was the reason I went with the bae in the first place.. TWO out/thru plus the xlr di. So I can hit two amps, or whatever…

@@SHUTUPANDRECORD I have also owned the GR and it was great for vocals and bass, but i absolutely did not like the DI for guitar, but then again, back then i did not really know to listen carefully. Now that i have tried out a lot of stuff i might actually go back to my old setup of a RME ADI-2 PRO and the Great River pre. By the way, 500 seems nice but i often read that the 500 modules do not sound as good as the "big units" but it's definitively wirth a try :)
