How is it rare? A lot of best teams at the moment play this position (goretzka, wijnaldum, de bruyne, sabitzer, witsel, llorente, de jong hojbjerg etc...)

Souček was known early on in his career (5 years ago) to just say “Hey guys!” when arriving to training at smaller, 2nd league Prague based club Viktoria Žižkov, training hard as hell and saying “Bye guys!” when leaving, and that was in his native language🤣 They actually nearly kicked him out of the team. Two 2nd league teams already returned Souček because they thought he would never reach the level of professional football and the first sentence Žižkov coach said to Žižkov owner about Souček was "We will probably have to return him!" But Souček was loaned from Slavia Prague for free and his monthly wage of 572 Euro was 100% paid for by Slavia. So the owner realised keeping Souček literally costs him nothing. Žižkov first choice DM got a red card suspension so they eventually gave Souček a chance. He then basically played the same style everywhere like now in WHU, always scoring surprisingly many goals😀
The same coach of Žižkov - Trpišovský - who nearly fired Souček after the first training then took him to other two progressively bigger clubs Liberec and Slavia and when Souček was transfered to WHU, the coach said:
“In my opinion, Tomáš will not stay in West Ham for long. I am convinced that it is just an interchange station for him and he will go to a really big club in a year to the day. "
After Slavia faced Inter Milan in Champions League, coach Conte wanted Souček to Inter, but the club decided Souček would be bad marketing-wise, and that it would be better if he went to Inter from another "smaller" Italian club like Fiorentina or Sassuolo:-)
