Today we are making Cocktail Recipe Coasters! I found these cute images at www.graphicstoc... ~ they actually have the recipe along with the drawing! I love them! They had other drinks too, but I picked my four most favorite and tropical recipes. I did two different techniques, so be sure to check out this fun DIY craft tutorial!

My friends are moving, this would make a great little gift with a bottle of wine of course, LOL, love this idea!!!!❤
I'm thinking of when I try resin coasters for the first time and since I love all things "Coffee" I'm going to make some coasters with half or full depending on how they fit coffee beans. Maybe a small drawn coffee cup as well. Love all your videos and how they inspire me. Once the holidays are over that is. (smile)
+Kelly Jansema Thank you Kelly! I do have a coffee coaster with beans and stickers. When you start creating, I'd love to see them!
I love them all. I plan to try this for my self. You are an inspiration for me to craft. Thank you.
Thank you Sherita!
I love them both!!! I really can't choose. I'm new to your channel but you make me want to make lots and lots of coasters LOL. TFS!!
Hugs!!
Kerri-Jo Sharp Welcome Kerri-Jo! I'm glad you are here!
I liked both as much as the other. Very creative. Thank you for sharing.
littleredsubmarine Thank you!
These are so cute! I LOVE the "salt/sugar rim" idea!!
+Heather Dunn Thank you Heather!
I loved them both but, the rimmed ones are super creative!!
burtongirl Thank you!
I am in love with these coasters, both styles! Definitely my favorite that you've done so far!
Whitney Lynn Thanks Whitney!!
Love the spilled green cup in the upper right, starting at 1:28!
BrettFromLA That's my craft room. I put it aside and Spooky (my cat) knocked it over.
I love them both! I like the transparency medium but I love the sugar/salt rim.
Thank you Bethany!
what a great idea with the "sugar" rim!! thats awesome!
+Alicia Grass Thank you Alicia!
how fun to do the rimmed edges! i liked both haha!
Misty Mask Thank you!
I like both of them. Great gift idea. Your video's are awesome.
Lu Smith Thank you so much!!
Cute & functional, great idea! Thanks for all the videos, I'm just getting into resin and appreciate all the info & inspiration :)
***** Thanks Noelle! I'm glad it helps!
WOW, i have seen a hole bunch of coaster making videos, and you are the best!
+Alejandro Enciso Thank you Alejandro!
Both are adorable!
+Stephenie Thomas Thanks Stephenie!
I love your art work
I prefer the transparency film just because it's like 2-3 steps less than the mod podge. I experimented with mod podge before and it got stuck with my mold and my resin pieces came out sticky. It's possible that my resin ratio was incorrect too. I love the glitter idea on the rim. That is brilliant! ^_^ Thanks for always sharing your videos and ideas with us!
Hannelore Blando I'm glad you like it Hannelore! If the Mod Podge is completely dry, it should not affect your resin, so it sounds like you are right about the ration being off. Thanks for watching!
CraftKlatch Love this idea. Adding the "sugar" around the rim was so cute, as would be adding a polymer clay lemon slice, pineapple, etc. I definitely plan on trying this.
redhotsweetpotatoe All great ideas!
Definitely like the coasters with the sugar rims. Cheers! 🍸
Kathryn Jackson Cheers Kathryn!
LOVE THEM BOTH!!!! Probably cuz I love all those cocktails..LOL!!! They came out adorable & very festive! So what time should we come over???? I'll bring chips & guac!! Love ya, Lynda A.
nytflyt7 I love them too! Bring over the guac!
Transparency is my favourite
I like the transparencies better, but both are cute. I love the added sugar texture on the card stock ones.
Brandywine6969 Thank you! I thought the sugar was kind of fun.
Great summer 💡!
Love them both!!! Thanks for sharing!
vdubgirl65 Thank you!
My favorites so far 😍❤🍸🍹🥂🍻
CraftKlatch i think that both methods are equally good.........and they are just so simple to do.......:-)
Rebecca Cornel They are so easy and both are good options
If I had my pick I like the transparency film. However both of them are awesome.
Monica Vasquez Thanks Monica!
I love both of them good job x
gconnolly2 Thank you!
Like them both!! The one's printed on card stock are only "better" because you do not have to print with a laser jet printer!! Tfs!!;)
Jennifer Y Thanks Jennifer!
I love these!!!
Rachel I'm glad you like them Rachel!
I love the 3d affect with the sugar rims but they where all great
Bobbi Carpenter Thanks Bobbi!
Transparency better....glitter rim...cool idea
I really liked them both but I can see how the transparency paper would be easier but using the mod podge lets you add embellishments.
Danielle VanCamp Both worked great!
I like them both too. 😊 But if I had to choose one it would be the mod podge, sugar around the edges. What can I say, I like glitter. Lol
Rhonda Escue Glitter rocks!!
Love love love
Great idea!
In the end, I don't see a difference really between the trans and the solid. They came out really great!
Rachel They really don't look that much different.
I like the ones with the rims
Can these be used for hot and cold beverages?? Adorable
+Carol Blais Thank you Carol. They are really meant for cold beverages.
Great! Never thought of using the transparency paper. Can this be used on tile coasters also?
Like both
so hard to decide, both ideas are awesome.
Carolyn Pratt Thank you Carolyn!
As an Irish crafter I humbly approve this craft, lol! With graphic stock can you use images on pieces that you sell in like an esty shop?
xBoneOrchardx I'm glad you approve!! :) You can double check on their website to see how you can use the images.
These are great! Could you tell me what grit of sandpaper I should use to make the edges nice and even? Also what program do you use to size your images? Or is everything through cricut?
Your coasters are amazing! I do have one question though. When I make resin coasters there is a small lip of resin where it adhered to the mold. I usually file it down and place a felt pad over it; however, I have no idea what to do if I don't flip it over. The way you make the coasters, the lip is on the top of the finished coaster. What do you to remove the lip or do you leave it?
Thank you! If it's rough or uneven, I'll take an old pair of scissors and trim it when it's about 12 hours cured. I like the lip, but you can remove it from the mold and they dome it and it will be perfect.
Both are pretty cool, like the MP one better!
Valerie Howard Thanks Valerie!
♥️♥️♥️ both
Sweet
Hey I cudnt find des pics on the site u shared cud u plz share the link or so thank u nd grt wrk it's so cool u craft so many variations beauty
I really like both .now question is on clear one can u put glitter around the edge to .
michelle middleton Sure. You can add a sugar rim and then do another pour of resin.
I like both, but if I had to pick one. I would take the one plain with the picture on the clear paper.
Thank you!
Can’t find graphicstock.com
Hi Mona, what size did you print your graphics at? I have downloaded some from Graphic stock (Thanks!).
allabouteveshop You want them just under four inches because the cavity for the coaster is four inches. Hope that helps!
I love the sugar ones
+Krysti Holmes Thank you!
P.S. Can you tell me what to search to find those pics or can I get a link please? I've searched recipe, drinks, mixed drinks, drink mixes, drink recipes and can't find them :(
Thanks!!
Kerri-Jo Sharp Pixabay.com is a fantastic source for completely free images (not just a 7-day trial) - almost all of them under Creative Commons 0 licenses (free for commercial use, no attribution required) - just in case you'd like to sell your coasters. Here are literally dozens of this kind of image:
pixabay.com/en/photos/?q=user%3AAlexas_Fotos+cocktails+recipes&image_type=&cat=&order=
Notice that you can download different sizes to suit different purposes. I usually download both a medium and large version of any image I pick up. I don't bother with the small size because it's easy to downsize images without loss of quality rather than starting with a small one and upsizing.
In fact, while you're on Pixabay, have some fun. Just do a general search on "cocktail", "drinks" or any other subject (such as "owls", maybe), and you'll find tons of fabulous images in a variety of styles (photos, clipart, etc.) that would make fabulous coasters - or to use in other projects, commercial or personal.
Kerri-Jo Sharp Hi Kerry-Jo - If you put cocktails in the search images, they and others should pop right up.
TechSupport100 Great advice.
TechSupport100 Thank you!!
The white pigment you use, would Michael's have that? What is it called exactly if I go and look for it? Thanks!
Rachel I think Michaels might have it, but Hobby Lobby for sure has it. It is right by the Easy Cast and resin products. It's resin pigment. Hope that helps!
So cool😊😺
Hailey Elam Thanks Hailey!
Your welcome
Hey Mona, two questions. 1.) Must you make an account with graphic stock? 2.) If so, is it free?
+Jasmine Pierce Hi Jasmine - They had a free trial when I made the video. I don't know if they are still offering it now. You would need to head over to their website and see.
+CraftKlatch Ok, thank you very much
Where do you buy your molds? I struggle to find something similar.
+Jenifa Richards I buy it online on Amazon. You can find them here: amzn.to/1fQXub7
Beautiful!!!! What setting do you use to print?.
+NJ CAMOCUTIE I don't change the settings on the printer. I just print regular.
+CraftKlatch I love your videos. I have tried resin crafting myself but just can't get the hang of it. I recently made a few pieces to make keyrings from but they are not solid they are bendy like rubber. Any ideas why this might have happened?
Jemma Colgan Hi Jemma - Are you using Easy Cast or Envirotex Lite? It could be humidity or not being stirred properly. If you are using either of those products, go to their customer service, they are very helpful. www.eti-usa.com
CraftKlatch I am hoping to get some of the easy cast resin. I was just using a doming resin from a local company that was a 1:1 mix as it was all I could get my hands on for now. Will just have to give them a day or two to cure and see if it helps. Thank you for replying.
Transparency is better
How many coasters can you get out of one package of resin?
Becki C Hi Becki- It depends on the size of the resin package and the thickness of the coasters. The thinnest coasters are about two ounces.
CraftKlatch So a 32oz Easy Cast kit will do 16 coasters, max?
I love crafts and I'm thinking of doing coasters for Christmas gifts.
Becki C If you use two ounces each. Yes.
Although with the Margarita one I personally think you should've added a bit of green instead of yellow
+Krysti Holmes You may be right.
What type of resin do u use
Charlotte Harlow I most often use Easy Cast, but sometimes I use Envirotex Lite too.
Thank you I wull defo try making these
Both
Lala Hastings Thanks Lala!
Creative sugar rims!!!!!
+Kawaii Pony Thank you!
I am bummed. I subscribed Graphic Stock and the only picture I could find is the Mai Tai one.
+chris jones Oh no! Can you drop them a note and see if they still have them?
I will give that a try and I will let you know.
I couldn't even find that one. Did you write them? Thanks
No I did not. I still might. I really do like these prints
The Modge podge.
Donia Gonzales Copeland Thanks Donia!
Mode poge
I saw you for the first time today, and when you came on to my surprise you were not my daughter Melissa. It's uncanny but you could be her identical twin.
Regards,
Shari
+Shari Harris How funny! They say everyone has a twin somewhere. Unless I'm living a double life......Mom... ;)
I like the ones with the rims.
***** Thanks Mandy!
