Pile 2- Zealous came out because I have been preparing to apply to Stanford. I have never considered an “Ivy League type” until I realized they were the only university in the nation that had the education tract I was searching for. The application is due by December, and I have been writing and preparing for going on a year, now. The person I am enamored with is living across the country, also studying to be a professor, and we are currently not in touch. When I met them at 19, they inspired me to take myself seriously, and I have been working so hard to get on their level ever since. And yes, I did “return from battle” recently. For 6 months I participated in a labor program. I worked 90 hour weeks, where we decontaminated N95 masks to be reused by healthcare systems amidst the global supply shortage. I was one of the only females and the youngest laborers left in the program by the end. I have seen too much, and now I realize that We must fill the world with happiness, not sorrow, if we wish to change it.

I was in group 3 and you really hit home for me I’ve always struggled with a lot of anxiety and depression and felt trapped by other peoples thoughts and judgments and way of life, by society’s idea of what I should have been but I never fit into that I’m always in the clouds or laying out in a meadow somewhere else inside my head and I felt stuck for long, I have been growing rapidly this past year I had 3 deaths in my family last December and I learned that nothing is truly permanent so how could I actually ever truly feel stuck? I danced and laid out in the rain last night and I told myself that I’m not going to people please anymore I’m going to live for myself and there’s nothing actually selfish about that. I can choose to be free that’s the whole point of life
