This song actually adds depth to Aladdin's character. The actual diamond in the rough who is painfully self deprecating & aware of his flaws. Much better than the "cool" street rat we get in the final cut.

As a vocal coach, I'd only say to him "be less conscious of how you sound and more about how you feel and express that more in the work." Great voice, it's there, now just make us know how you feel!! just a bit more. Example: "since I wasn't born perfect, like Dad or you", I'd like to hear more of his feeling "less than" in the way you chose to sing that phrase...
