Chemo Side Effects - Blimping out - yet another blow to my self image.
Dexamethasone, a corticosteroid, is prescribed to counter inflammation caused by the Chemotherapy treatment. It also has many side effects and one of the worst for one’s self image is that it causes fluid retention, an increased appetite and increased deposits of fat in the arms, kegs, face, neck, breasts and waist.
One feels bad enough with all of the other side effects, but this just tops everything. I feel bad enough about myself without blimping out …
