This was so appreciated I ordered my labels, my thermal printer and I was trying to figure out printing sequential labels, I remembered seeing your video now I got to do is finish this part. Thank you!
@@dannihardy7874 Excellent, glad I could help.
Yay! Thank you for doing a detailed video. I had my sequential numbers set in excel but then spent an hour trying to figure out how to print there or copy to word. This is soo helpful. 👍💯
Awesome!
Such perfect timing I’ve been wanting to do this. Thank you soooo much Sean!!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Excellent!
Let me know if you run into any issues.
Awesome Sean!!! Ty! I was just about to have to print labels for the first time and you saved me a ton of time!!!!!
You're Welcome!
Thank you! Finally a this has been explained in an easy to understand formate.
Love to hear it.
Ya it took me a few hours to figure out because I couldn't find a good CZcams video on it.
So I decided to make one.
You're videos are always awesome. Thanks for sharing
Appreciate it Joseph.
Your videos are always awesome. Thanks for sharing
Appreciate it!
Thanks Sean, I appreciate this video a lot. I have been thinking very much about switching over to a different storage, and inventory system, and I really like yours. But, I wasn't sure on how to create, and print sequential numbers for labeling. You have made this super easy to understand, and I will be putting your inventory system into place for myself by the end of this month. Thanks again
Very nice, it’s a pretty smooth system.
@@TaylorExchange alright after looking at this closer I have decided to just order the sequential numbers off of Amazon for the time being. The numbers go up to 10,000 and so it will take me quite a while to get to that number in the 2 different primary categories that I sell in. I just have an ink printer for the time being, and purchasing a Rollo at the moment is not going to be feasible. I will eventually be using your system exactly how you have it set up in this video at some point though, and so I will keep your video here fresh in my mind for future use at some point. Anyway Sean, I appreciate your content. It's pretty straight forward, and easy to understand.
@@TaylorExchange I think your system is perfect. And I will be still be using your inventory system immediately how you have it set up. I'll just have to wait on being able to purchase the Rollo Printer to be able to print up my own numbered labels.
@@seanruss2368 Sounds good 👍
Thanks for this video, very helpful! I ran into an issue and thought I'd share in case it helps anyone else. I'm using the USB Rollo with wireless adapter which didn't allow me to change the paper size when printing so it was skipping every 5 labels (presumably bc it thought it was printing to 4x6). Workaround was to connect the printer directly using USB and then I was able to select the custom paper size in Printing Preferences from the USB printer and all worked well.
No problem,
Ya it took me a few hours to figure this method out.
I really appreciate you doing this. I was wondering how this was done. Thanks!
Excellent
best labels in the business
I agree 🫡
I do the same, but on label paper with my laser printer. Just have a stack of them at my desk. I use the 80/page labels (4 across). Thanks for the great content! ❤
Ah very nice!
Just got a Rollo. Your video is what I needed. When you started printing it looked like you used the original fold backwards. If you use the fold as it was originally, you should be able to just let it refold on the floor (checking to make sure it is neat of course). Great video. Setting mine up now...
Nice, thanks for the heads up 👍
Gotta love the Rollo
I couldn't agree more.
Here is a bigger question for you that I’ve not heard the answer to from other sellers:
When you have all of these SKUs do you ever reuse them in the future? If you reuse them how do you know which ones to reuse without constantly checking? It would also make printing them a bit of a pain.
If you don’t reuse them and you consolidate your bins of clothing or other items then are you getting bins that are like: 1, 2, 18, 39, 40, 41, 72, 74, 80, 86, 87? I’m guessing it might be difficult to know what bin to even check for the item over time because the bins will have large gaps in the SKU numbers over time?
I hope this makes sense
Yes it makes sense.
Simple answer and best method I've found is to not reuse any number.
About once every 2 months I consolidate all the items.
This consolidation take me about 4 hours solo or 2.5 hours with a helper.
Have you considered making each box an alphabet letter and having your labels say a1, a2 etc and as that box becomes empty with sales you continue on the count say a40, a41 and so forth. The same for box B. So you don’t have to reshuffle your entire inventory from box to box? Just a thought
@@donacassel5195 Inhave considered that and it would be more time consuming and difficult.
I sell vintage items and as I'm getting into 8000 I'm finding that I only have 20, 40, 80, etc remaining items in the 100's 1000's 2000's range and I've been considering renumbering those and starting over instead of bumping up to the 10,000's when the time comes
thanks for helping me print out labels on my thermal printer.
Sure thing, glad you were able to get the issue solved.
@@TaylorExchange it took me awhile to roll up 2500 labels lol
@@donte415 Haha no doubt, I do 1k rolls at a time.
I hate Rollo so much, but this worked and now i am less angry.
😂👍
quick question to make sure this works for me: I have full sheet labels for my printer (the size of regular printer paper) can I do this on the full sheet labels (and just cut them to seperate?) THANK YOU!
You can but would have to set the paper size to what the paper you have. 👍
Wouldn't it be easier to print as you go with some kind of a simple plugin on your website that keeps track of the last serial number printed so all you need to do is click "print serial number labels" every time you need one, or select a number and click print if you need five or six?
No
Thanks for this! I just switched over to this inventory system. How often do you shift your inventory over in the boxes as they become empty?
About once every 2 months at 5,000 items. It’s a brutal task. Much easier with a helper!
I usually just buy numbered labels from Amazon, it’s super cheap plus it’s a great investment so it pays for itself. But I might try printing my own and see how it goes!!
Can you send the link for numbers over 10,000 my friend was looking and had trouble finding them and then asked how to make them so I made this video.
I bought mine from Amazon as well and curious if there are any over 10,000
thanks for the tutorial!! hopefully this will help me with work~
But is it possible to do this with 2 columns? I need 2 separate boxes, one with numbers and one with qr codes, ill go look into it, but posting this in case i cant find the answer myself.
@@anyafujoshi I’ve never tried 2 boxes.
maybe a TP roll might work ?
@@Biscaynedave Good idea
I found the solution to the crazy printing issue.. lol. It's actually really simple, first you print in reverse! Rollo has this feature you just have to go into control settings, word also has the setting so you can also just do it there. Then you get a cheap lint roller for a few bucks, and roll around it by hand the first 50 or so until it grips nicely, after that you can just spin the lint wheel and you will be able to roll it up even faster than it prints.. I'm actually just keeping it on the flint roller after that and taping it near the photo booth so I just roll it out for each new label as they are photographed. You may want to get smaller labels though as it might be harder to spin fast but no big deal.
I’d like to see a video on that!
Seems like a good idea!
@@TaylorExchange You can make the video if you try it out, I have no plans for youtube anytime soon. It's pretty awesome lol, and I'm sure it would help a lot of people.
@@cekz5199 I’m not switching up how I do it. When I do labels I just print 5-10k at a time and I’m good for a while.
@@TaylorExchange Oh lol, you were baiting for comments in the video then, you asked if there was a better way twice I thought you were serious. :P
@@cekz5199 Ya genuinely curious if theirs a better method than mine. But having one explained and told to create a video about it was not my intention.
hey there. did you do this on a mac? i followed the video and the settings (for the label size) will not let me change them to what you have in the video. i may be slightly challenged
No this was on my ThinkPad
when i print the labels out, its skipping and leaving three to four blank labels between numbers and wont let me change the margins on the custom labels
@@heidiz9668 It’s tough but the video outlines exactly how to do it. Make sure the printer is calibrated.
@@TaylorExchange yes sir. i did calibrate. i will try again
@@TaylorExchange im so sorry to bother you again. when i try to click on and change details for the 107.36 label and put in the numbers you have...it will only let me go up to 22 on label height and label width. any thoughts?
I have been seling online since 2021. I just can't get a lot of sales. I have hundreds of items listed, a variety of items, I check listed and sold comp prices. I think my pics and descriptions are good. I really need to make money doing this due to a chronic health issue. Can you make a video maybe giving some suggestions? Thank you so much.
I’ve been thinking about doing a store review for a viewer. If you don’t mine having your store viewed by the public. Send me your store link through FB, Instagram, or email and I’ll work on a video for you.
I saw a label rewinder on amazon for $75.... also... wouldn't avery laser labels be cheaper int he long run? heat sensitive labels are more expensive.... also they can yellow and fade over time
I may need to look into that rewinder.
I’m not sure if it’s cheaper with Avery. But I run a 5,000 item store with about half selling every 90 days. I have not had any issue with yellowing.
@@TaylorExchange when I say "Avery" i mean knock off avery labels, lol - also because you sell out your stuff quickly you don't notice the fade... Rollo and dymo labels are like fax paper, they are thermal, fade over time and get less dark, also high heat can blacken them
@@johnrichardson1949 I see what you mean. This method is by no means perfect but it has helped me keep a large store running smoothly.
😂😂😂 “That’s what she said” 😂😂😂
Haha never gets old.
Why not leave them folded?
That’s not a terrible idea.
A bit easier to control when they are rolled and it sits on the end of a clamp that is attached to the photo set up.
tough game today. bears and chiefs. lets see what happens
Chiefs have struggled. I think we will put it on em.
why don't you add barcodes to them? There are easier programs out there to make labels with sequential numbers, and barcodes etc....
I think Avery has a very user friendly way to make them.
Not sure what benefit barcodes would be on these items.
@@TaylorExchange I guess barcoding can help some people with their inventory or sale process.... and also can encode product info if it helps
