Jacob does the 'traveling' for all of those who can't, so that they too, can enjoy all the marvels this country has to offer! What a Great guy, and a true American treasure! 😃
Jacob is one of a kind !
I liked the laundry part the best.
I used to go on road trips with my family when I was a kid. I miss all of the fun we used to have as a family. Thank you Jacob for taking us along on your adventures.
It’s not annoying to hear you talk about problems traveling on the road. It’s interesting and kinda funny because I never thought it would be such a challenge to clean your laundry. Makes me appreciate my laundry set even more! Hang in there! Great Road-trip!
I agree 100% Keep up that side of your travels, Jacob. We love it!
I used to work in a gas station/ convenient store and sometimes they ask not to keep a lot of change in your till in the event you get robbed. Typically you drop all big bills directly into the safe and keep less than 50 in the till, especially at night! Hope that helps! Be safe on the road!
Before I got my own machines, I would do laundry in my apartment's clubhouse laundry room next door. A few months before I stopped using them, the machines changed and had a QR code you could scan to pay electronically. You could also still use quarters if you preferred. I imagine that eventually, public use type machines will go in the direction of electronic payment when companies tire of dealing with quarters. It's an ever-changing world, even with simple tasks like doing laundry!
I've binged the Pickers too. Thanks for taking us in the shop. 💖
I absolutely LOVE your videos, Jacob. And I love the addition of the gas station dinner. Such fun! 😁
PS - You talk about whatever you wanna talk about...you're never boring. Even when you're quietly folding t-shirts. 😆
For tamales you must remember to unwrap them first. The husk is on there so the inside is steamed and delicious. Thanks for sharing your adventures!
I absolutely love Nashville I have been there many times. Jack White is from hometown of Detroit.
Laundry on the road is definitely tough! I went to the Springfield, Missouri area for 2 weeks of training as part of my job, packing a week's worth of clothes figuring I'd do laundry on the weekend. I found a laundromat but didn't have much cash on me. I had just enough to get the clothes washed and mostly dry. They ended up air drying in the hotel room overnight, but it got the job done!
Every time I drive through a fast food place or buy something at the store, the change goes into a bag I keep in the console. I occasionally get into it. Separate the quarters from the rest and when I have enough, I wash my car. If there is a bank nearby, they should be able to make change for you whether you are a client or not. Also most banks have a change counter if you want to change them into bills.
JACOB! One of your BEST videos for SO many reasons, not the least of which is the sharing and folding you did at the end! You should make a video of you just folding clothes and then when we're folding OUR clothes we can put on your video and then we won't be folding alone! YES I'M SERIOUS! :) :)
Oh, great video by the way! No you're not complaining to much. You're showing us that life on that loansom road 🛣️ isn't always all sunshine and rainbows. And that's just being real ❤️
That's all this idiot dose is complain and eat!
@TheCarpetbagger. FU I don't eat spam!
When I'm in Nashville, I always stay at the motel next to Cooters.😁
Found some Starry at my CVS, and the lime smell when you open the can is strong
This was a wonderful exploration of Nashville! I honestly had no idea half these places existed!
i used to watch american pickers with my dad a ton so im glad u checked this out
Love traveling with you!
Tip: Get yourself a "folder"! It really helps to fold T's to a T 😂 & helps keep them wrinkle free & flat & fresh!
Love the behind the scenes footage, I'm sure all of us like to see the normal side or the things that you go threw day to day, that's interesting as well we see you as average Joe it's good to see
Love Cooter's and the Willie Nelson museum.
Jacob I really appreciate All.that you're doing for us I truly appreciate your honesty an openess about you're health.I suffer anxiety and depression . Back to the current situation
Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart ❤ for You! And Everything you Do .. Much love Respect and Safe Travels 🙏 from Tammy
That music store has the best music taste ever
Thank you for all you do to entertain us Jacob.
He's the man
Dolly never wrote 'I will always love you'. That was whitney Houston.
ITS FUN WATCHING YOU FOLD LAUNDRY JACOB .HAVE A NICE REST OF YOUR DAY!!
The dog in the police car is Flash. He was Rocco’s dog. Loved that show!
Thanks. I was trying to think of his name and hadn't gotten around to looking it up. 😁
Hey Jacob. You will be happy to know that S'mores cereal is available again. It's one of my favorites.
love the videos where you review gas station food ... please make this part of the daily recap .....
Loved that Dukes of Hazzard museum!! I grew up watching the reruns of the show. Definitely want to go there someday.
YEEEEE HAAAAWWW!!!!
I think those were longhorns on the car not antlers 😆
I'm sadly lacking in my knowledge of country singers but I do respect their outfits and attire.
I had a Dukes of Hazzard TV lap tray when I was a kid 😁 that brought back memories! Also, go to the laundromat and they have coin machines!
Personally I appreciate the gas station dinners and showing us about your laundry. Not everyone can take luxurious trips all over and it's nice to see realistic, practical, attainable travel.
Laundromats have change machines, just a heads up for next time lol! Thanks for another cool travel day, love the gas station food segment, reminds me of fun road trips with the family
As a child when we went on the road daddy would stop and buy bread, baloney, cheese , mustard, chips, cookies, cokes that was our lunch and sometimes supper and we always had the old cooler to save leftovers.
Good morning Jacob. Third Man records is a great place to visit. The American Pickers store is a great place to visit.
The roller bites are bun optional I never use a bun on them !! Another great vid Jacob thanks again for doing your thing !!!
Ah, memories of the road. I feel your paln.
Enjoy all of these videos and with whomever is with you at this time.
35:10 Speedway is probably going to be on the top of the list for convenience store food. Love their pizza and other cafe items. And don't forget the travel centers such as Pilot, Love's and TA.
Also they can prepare food hot too.
Malt o meal started selling smores cereal a few years ago. It was my favorite when I was a kid. I loved the smurf cereal too
Love your channel. We live here in Nashville glad you visited. If you need change try going to car wash they’ll give you change and quarters. Be careful out there.
I specifically remember multiple separate times on American Pickers where the guys liked something, asked the owner what they wanted for it, the owner would say a number, and they literally said like no way, it's actually worth more than that and gave the person a little info on the item before making an offer better than what the person originally wanted.
Stay safe with your travels and the weather 🙏🥰🤗
Car washes usually still have a change machine. That’s probably the easiest way. A lot of businesses don’t keep a ton of cash in their drawer anymore because of risk of theft. They also don’t like giving change for a large bill like a 100 because it shorts how much they have available in their drawer. A lot of cashiers are restricted in how much they can be replacing in the toll and quarters are one of the coins that they don’t have a ton of in the till. That’s what I know from working retail for years. They are really trying to make everyone use digital currency these days as well or a plastic card. So there’s that too. I still remember when cash was used everywhere with no issue, but times change.
Change shortage is not a thing now. I honestly think these places don't want to help out anymore like they used to. I was in the same situation once trying to do laundry while traveling. Safe travels.
I believe if you went to a bank you can exchange your paper money for all the coins that you would need. I hope this helps you. You commented that you might be too grumpy. You are doing just fine and it's nice to know what it takes to keep your show on the road the behind-the-scenes look.
Great video Jacob! I wonder why things like laundry machines, vending machines, parking meters, etc these days don't all just accept debit/credit cards. Not many people carry around bags of quarters anymore.
A fun day of seeing sights in Nashville that I didn't know existed. Thanks, Jacob.
These are some of the most obvious crap holes in town 🤣
It might have been easier to find a laundry mat 😁
Also if you roll your tshirts rather than fold them they take up less room in the suitcase and they don't get as wrinkled 😸
I just had my gallbladder out and these gas station meals are killing me to watch! You must have a gallbladder of steel!
The White Stripes are not my cup of tea, but that was a cool little place. Great video as always Jacob!
lived in Nashville for a bit almost started working at the Willie Nelson Museum but found a job a little closer to east Nashville where i was living. The Turnip Truck!
really loved Nashville made many friends and cant wait to visit again. came back home to (hesitate to say) California due to the pandemic and a very freighting tornado right before. scariest thing in my life. ill take earthquakes over tornados in my experience anyway.
I ❤️ ending-to hear the unscripted and everyday “struggles”
The washer
Has a part to pour in detergent and softener and dispensers it at the proper cycle.
On the road rant-
Justify that right, well spoken and felt.
I lived the road as a railroad engineer. Great times.
This video is full of so much amazing stuff!! I really enjoy this choose my road trip thing a lot. You got over the speed bumps and now it’s smooth riding the rest of the way I hope lol
Appreciate you sharing your travels!
Jack White made an album with Loretta Lynn, which is how I heard about him, and I love it!!!
I love all your videos. I have seen places and things on here I have never known. Thanks for taking us along and doing what you do best. You have some of the best videos.
Carpetbagger the sideburn King.
No Jacob you are not being grumpy it's annoying when you are trying to get something done and you keep hitting roadblocks Thanks for a great Video!
Love it
No, it wasn't too grumpy - just life on the road. (Got my Fiji-Carpetbagger today - love it!)
LOVE ❤️ MIKE AND FRANK !!
Lloyd Lindroth was a flamboyant harpist. Across the street from the Willie Nelson museum, he used to play free nightly shows in the Opryland Hotel Conservatory. I saw him there a couple of times about 30 years ago.
Love the Dukes and ofcourse the Willie "POT Holder" in the Willie Zoltar lol!
Love watching the videos. Love seeing the places you visit.
You got it right. Just eat the Nashville Chicken like you did. The buns are for the Hot Dogs🌭 I also love the Big Mama sausage 😋 I also go to a self wash, car wash to get quarters for laundry.
Very interesting! I never knew just how many items they made from Dukes of Hazzard! Please be careful with the "gas station dinner!" LOL 😆 ( just don't eat there too often!👍😬😃)💜
Got my “No Scares on Stairs” pin yesterday. Love it, thanks!
Thank you and Hope you are feeling great and moving
I love you CarpetBagger. You are the besta
Best concert I ever went to was the WhiteStripes in 2007 in Norfolk Virginia!!!!
@Jacob you should hit a bank and get a couple rolls of quarters for laundry. #HopefulProTip. Safe travels to NC!!
You know you are living in a diverse country when you see tamales rotating on a heat roller in a gas station convenience store in Nashville, TN.
I have not read the comments below so maybe I am repeating someone. Here in Ohio we have coin operated car washes on every corner. Great place to go if you need quarters in a hurry. Anytime you see a carwash, stock up on quarters!
Oh lawdy Jacob! After that gas station dinner, I really hope your hotel has good plumbing in the bathroom!
Hi!! Sorry I missed you in Nashville. Had to work today. Hope you enjoyed our city. LOVE your channel.
QT would be a good place for dinner
I love your videos, they inspire me to make my own. Thank you so much!!!
Same
You failed to mention how revolting your burps are after eating the Big Mama sausage. There is a rule now that if he eats those and he's going to burp, then he must roll down the window first. 😆
Ha. Thanks for those behind the scene secrets.
Pretty Please- Ashville North Carolina
In most northern states places switched to card/digital payments so typically you don't have to have change to do laundry.
That change thing is so strange. Some places no longer do cash back either. It's like there's a change shortage at Target, Walmart, Dollar general and family dollar 💸. That's here in Florida. Interesting that some of the most popular places to shop seem to be stuck in a change shortage while everyone else has gone back to normal. 😳. It's weird. Collect your own over time when you spend cash. That's how I do it. Never give them change, have them give it to you. About 3 years ago I had a hundred dollar bill, got all my things to the counter and was told they didn't have enough to break the hundred... It was in the afternoon! They had been open for hours but had no way to give me my change! That was a CVS to!! Somebody must have messed up badly. There's also places that have gone cashless completely, and some laundry machines only take credit cards!💸💸
I always carry a roll of quarters.
Get it @ a bank
Aldi carts, laundry, older vending machines, etc
Good luck!
Love your videos and I love travelling with you!
If you need to do laundry on the road just stop by either a loves travel stop or pilot/flying j and you can use the laundry room it’s 2.50 to wash and dry and you can use your debt card there.
I used to go to the car wash when I needed quarters for laundry.
When I travel, I tend to pack my shirts, pants, shorts using the Ranger Roll.
I really in joy watching you. I wish I could travel with you someday ❤
Love the American Pickers shop!!!. XX
Jacob! Simple trick I’ve learned for getting change. Find a vending machine, and cycle bills for change that way. Stay safe out there!
You have to swing by the Farmer’s Market before you leave! Delicious food! Great breakfast at The Farmer’s Market Deli and Grill! 🤤
Jacob it is fun watching your adventures. This road trip has been fun, interesting, and as far as the beginning strange. I was hoping you would show more shirt folding. I was watching that as it was interesting how you were doing it. My thought was that is a good way to pack tshirts, which I travel with a lot, by folding them that way. Hey do a gas station meal at Speedway/7-Eleven.
Yal don't go to Atlanta Georgia there protesting in the city, the city is on fire 🔥, it's good to be in Nashville thanks for sharing Jacob, your a joy to watch when your on the road going places. 🙂📸
calm down, the city isn't on fire, and they are not protesting in the city now.
@@BarefootPicker ok I see
I worked a gas station and convenience store and normally early morning and late night the cash drawer didn't have enough money to break a $100. In morning we started off with $50 and at night we kept only $25 in case of robbery. Also to purchase a soda with a $100 bill can drain the draw cash fast.
Great vid. I feel ya on the quarter thing for laundry... My son got sick on our first camping trip and we found ourselves needing to get laundry cleaned. Little did we know , we were about to search all around Wapakoneta, OH, for quarters...
We first went to the laundry facility at the campground, but they didn't have a change machine. We went down the road to the laundromat (in hopes of finding a change machine), but everything was done on card. Walmart? Nothing. FINALLY, it was this lady who was working the window at Taco Bell who gave us all the quarters we needed.
Smores cereal was my favortie too! THEY BROUGHT IT BACK RECENTLY! it should still be available in certain areas!
Most chain stores have always had limitations on making change. They have limited funds to make it through set time periods when cash pickups are done by armored car services. They can't just go to the bank to get more change. Most stores won't take $50s and $100s because of running out of change for the rest of their business hours, but also because $50s and $100s are most counterfieted. These policies have been around long before the pandemic.
Yes he does and I do and have always made effect to enjoy.
Love this! I live in Jackson, TN, and have been looking for a reason to visit nashville. Thank you for giving me some great ideas!
Super cool 😎 video
I feel your pain, man. It's some sort of strange belief that only low life people persue a nomadic life. And I HATE folding laundry. But Nashville looked great!
OMG I BEEN THERE AT THAT VERY COOTERS !! WORTH THE TRIP
