I thought Monotony Fields was the best album ever made. This album just took it to another level!
I listened to SOD last night. Illusions Play. First time in awhile. Probably my favorite album by SOD. Curse Life was a meaningful and still is a meaningful song for me when it released. Pasi Koskinen vocals with SOD from 2001-2009 were amazing. The fact he fronted Amorphis with another vocal style, and same with Ajattra, showcased his talents.
Finally, it's time to ignite my pain with more pain.

Essa banda é magnífica. Uma trilha sonora para os que abraçam a solitude e anda de mãos dadas com o que muitos tem atualmente corrido ou sente medo de ser defrontado.

Ever hear of Remnants of Industry ??? The song 'The Last Of Autumn's Leaves' is definitely worth a listen if you're into cold atmospheric doom-metal.
I personally think that this album is way better than the previous one. They returned to the hooky melodies they were famous for in 2001-2004, the atmosphere is as well very dismal and tragic, as it used to be when they started. Great album indeed!!!
They r diferente beasts, MONOTONY FIELDS it's THE BEST ALBUM OF THIER CAREER. this ones nistalgic, but faraway from the smell of death and despair
Cryonomicon band is anyway much better than any of SoD album.
Been a SOD fan since around 2002.
After listening to many new releases this year, nothing topped this album for me.
This is my album of the year.

(I see woods, grey sky, a path, guiding to the higher unkown, that darkness at the bottom, the devil and angel rising in the middle and many more ... and than there is the woman, that summarizes all the darkness and mystery surrounding... drag you into the abyss and also able to guide you to higher grounds...) this is for me extra ordinary and resonates strangely on an emotional level.

The Metal of Mindfulness . . . a Meditation on our own Mortality . . . Release . . . Freedom . . . Joy . . . BLISS This is the Metal that Buddha would Zone out too, Pure Joy.

I think the band found hope in life. This release is not so dark, heavy, depressing but that don't make this suck. Music is beautiful and vocally very nice 🤘

This feels slow enough. I like this! Sometimes I theorize of a possible Doom Metal band that would be even slower and would make use of church bells and Russian octavists. Not them doing a death growl, but rather what they’d do for a funeral. It’d be Funeral Gothic Doom and it sounds awesome. This album inspired me to find something, some kind of concept to become even more intense. Hard to do though.
