- I Attempted a Hardcore Nuzlocke Only Using Pink Shinies In Pokemon Scarlet! The rules are I can only use Pink Shiny Pokemon In order to even participate in battles if that shiny Pokemon faints... I can't use them in battle anymore.. this was pure pain. It's a Pokemon Shiny only Nuzlocke, Hardcore Nuzlocke Shiny Only.

You don’t actually need to unlock a sandwich recipe to make it! If you press x on the sandwich menu, you can go into creative mode, and you can select all of the same ingredients as a real sandwich recipe to get the same buffs early! Also, if you want to do shiny hunting in the post-game there are some charts for the best sandwich recipes to use for each type. Also, the odds of encountering these shinies are the same as you mentioned at the start of the video, but could’ve been increased if you accidentally used a sandwich with sparkling power. With how easy it is to get shinies now, a lot of people are more interested in getting marked shinies or multiple shinies in a row. Still pretty rare to encounter the goomy that fast after the cyclizar
The thing with Shiny Hunting in SV is that while the odds are technically the same as the old games, you spawn MANY more encounters at the same time since everytime you move around a minimum of 20-25 Pokémon spawn (and for each, shinines and gender is established the moment they appear because it determined the model that they use). This means that everytime you enter an area with wild Pokémon in Paldea, it's like running across tall grass on 20~50 consoles/old game cartridges simultaneously. This makes the odds feel lower even if technically they're not.
This is even better than Legends Arceus because in PLA all the Pokémon that spawn in one of the 6 areas are static encounters and are only generated again once you either beat/catch one of them or whenever you go back to Jublife and enter the area again.
The downside is that SV also makes it easier to accidentally miss a shiny because if you walk past it by a few meters, it despawns and is lost forever.

20-25 what!? It's actually 15 😅 I don't think this game can handle more than 15 spawns at the same time. 😂
It depends on the area, I gave it a try right now and I got 14 spawns in one area, 17 in another. It's probably 13~16 spawns on average. I probably exaggerated but my point still stands. Also, they decreased the average spawning number in one of the patches, apparently.
@xxAryAryxx yeah I believe the limit was always 15 I've been playing since launch. The patch only limited spawns in certain areas due to bugs and performance issues.
"In an effort to curb the bugs related to performance issues, the latest update to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet reduces the number of creatures that will spawn in certain areas of the Paldea Region."
I'm pretty sure I counted 17 spawns this morning in one area, but I might've gotten it wrong.

Yeah pretty much xD I'm multitasking, and when I heard the 'Cyclizar' all I could hear was 'sizel' or something, so my head was all "Scisor, yes, I know that pokemon, it's the one keeping me away from getting a Shiny Charm at the moment" ..... ".... Wait a minute. Those don't spawn in the wild." I look more proper and boom. There's my boy Cyclizar. I was, confused to say the least lol
And fillet < t is silent >. And just going to say that if I never hear anyone say, "the very next turn", ever again, I'll be overjoyed.

Loved the video! As a evil suggestion, how about you do metallic textured shinys as your next challenge (ie. magikarp becoming gold and dragonairs tail pearl changing to a copper color)

Nice video. Favourite shiny is a good question, I really enjoy Emboar’s shiny for example, it looks really nice.
Oh also, I’ve noticed a few things. First of all, you don’t have to wait for night every time, if you just leave, then move time ahead/back by a few minutes before reentering you can change the time.
Oh, and if you do another Nuzlocke like this, consider investing in pokedolls to avoid scary encounters with high level Pokémon.

Nuzlockes where you specialize in one type can be fun if you want ideas. (For instance in Sword and Shield I did a non shiny Electric trainer nuzlocke so I had like Toxtricity, Boltund, Dracozolt, Morpeko, Vikavolt, and Lantern ). It could be fun to do one of a type you like in Violet. As for my fav Pokémon shiny, I like Norman and Hisuian Zorua.

I got a few favorite shinies, the main ones that come to mind being lumineon for having a simple but really nice looking color scheme, scolipede because the cyan accents look amazing, and Armaldo for being a neat reference to real life brine shrimp (and also matching with its other fossilized Hoenn brother).

@@Duwajii Oh I didn’t actually catch any of them unfortunately, I don’t own any console that supports a mainline game. I’m just going off what colors I think look the best.
If you are planning on making more scarlet and violet content, look into shiny power sandwhiches. The level 3 boosts your odds significantly, that and an encounter power of the type you want will make shiny hunting a lot faster. From my experience the most a hunt has ever taken was 3 sandwhiches so about an hour and a half. I am unsure as to when you can make these sandwhiches since I have already beat the game but figured I’d give you this bit of info. Great video!

The starter is only locked at the start. You can breed it and hatch a shiny with the and odds as wild encounters . Get a batch of eggs and make a save . Then keep hatching that same batch with a reset if none are shiny

@@Duwajii some suggestions: slowpoke, tauros, gengar, ditto (difficulty in not being visible at all for the most part), flabébé, pichu, igglybuff, stretchy tatsugiri, tandemaus, petilil, basculin, leafeon, snom, Persian, mimikyu, bramblin. You could get an online spinner/generator to decide your hunts too.

These videos are entertaining, but the stickler in me makes me shake my head when Pokemon names are mispronounced, not just badly sometimes, but also with extra letters inserted in their names lol. Doesn't detract from the video in any way whatsoever, I just had to say something lmao. Also, I don't think 'trivial' means what you think it does. At first I thought you just didn't think of some of the drawbacks as issues, but the more you used the word, the more I realized it seems like you're using it as if it's 'a big impact' when it's the exact opposite.
This challenge must've taken hella patience. You've got my respect for that alone! I think you might be confused on what "trivial" means, though, since something being trivial means that something that isn't significant at all.

you can spam start & end picnics to reset the pokekon in the area too instead of leaving to go in another area to respawn them. 😊 it’s a tip i learned that helped me get a shiny shuppet, psyduck, and gulpin really quickly during outbreaks. 😇💙
