Man her recipes. The info. The way she presents and explains. Perfect.
As an Italian, if I may say, DO use extra vergin olive oil. It makes everything tastier! You shouldn't fry anything with it, but as long as the bread is just toasted, it's fine. 👍
Exactly. Olive oil in general shouldn't be too hot, the smoking point being quite low as far as oils go (general rule: smoky oil = cancer). The issue with extra virgin is you lose quality when heated too much (even without reaching smoking point), so there's no real point using it in very hot preparations that required long sustained heat. But as you said, if just for toasting, it's perfectly fine.
What would be a good oil to use for frying?
@@k.v.7681what oil do you recommend to use if not Olive oil?

No words needed
And very humorous
You want a tomato you don’t have to scoop out? Find someone who grows ox heart heirloom tomatoes. They grow to easily be a kilo EACH and have almost no goop inside. I grow them for canning and they’re the best tomatoes, hands down. (If you’re ever near Cincinnati, hit me up, if they’re in season I’ll give you some. )

As an Italian I can’t confirm… we just don’t say bruschetta like that tf 😂😂
Idk who you are but you are the most confident and relaxing person I've ever saw in my life, she needs a cooking show.
I have only been cooking with extra virgin olive oil for the last 20 years no one's ever told me you don't heat it.
Right. I had to rewatch it to make sure I heard her right.
Yes you can heat it. It's probably the best oil! Just make sure it doesn't get over 180° Celsius
I think she meant don't use EVOO used for example salads instead use the pomace used for cooking
That’s a myth. They have done recent studies that when heated the Polyphenols actually protect the oil when heated high and aren’t bad for you. So keep doing what you are doing.
Yeah my housemate back when I was 19 told me exactly the same thing... don't cook with extra virgin olive oil only the normal olive oil... virgin olive oil is only for dressings and dips.
Ok I'll say it for everyone else she's absolutely GORGEOUS

I didn’t know you weren’t supposed to heat extra virgin olive oil, I’ve been making that mistake oops😬🥴
I’m learning so much from your videos, thanks!
Omg same here. I need more info. I use so much extra virgin olive oil
I've been deep frying puris in extra virgin olive oil for years. 🤣🤣🤣
It’s been debunked you can
Hi! It's actually the opposite, olive oil has a smoking point much higher than other oils, so it's the best oil to heat! Although if you fry food in olive oil it could have a "heavier" taste.
@@kendra1015 No, Olive pomace oil is more suited to Indian cooking. Even I learnt that AFTER using extra virgin olive oil for deep frying.
Don't they say smoking point is less for virgin olive oil?

Seasoning on point.

Finally, someone say Bruschetta right and clear.
You have to be joking!!! She totally butchered that pronunciation. That is not all how you pronounce it!
this woman makes me feel like I'm learning so much while she shows me how to make food
We usually use cherry tomatoes (or datterino) and marinate them in their own juice with just salt, oil, basil and garlic (you could take it out after it's marinated). You can add oregano too.
Also, you don't need to use oil on the bread before toasting it, you can add it after. But if you want to toast it with oil on it it's fine and you CAN heat extra virgin olive oil: at least we've been doing this our whole life lol.
Where I live we usually fry eggplants in extra vergine olive oil 'cause it's tasty and it has a pretty high smoke point (so, it's not becoming carcinogenic as other people have been saying in the comments). Hope this helps :)
Love your comment, the first italian (some i guess are just acting to be italian) i found that does not encourage using balsamic vinegar on bruschetta.
How to tell someone’s Italian they talk about an Italian recipe and it doesn’t have garlic in it
All I hear on her recipes is "Kosher Salt" 🤠✨

Low heat extra virgin heated low to med low is fine... Even medium .. just watch the smoke point...
The less refined the oil the better for your body..
Use fat but know the boundaries, grass fed an less refined and lower heat but to sear meat use a tallow and reg olive mix or ghee (grass fed butter then Clearfield) will have a much higher smoke point...
She's really got a talent .. very impressed..
“ cause ya fancy” love this lady’s style
As an Italian I’m offended!
Not really lol. I just thought it was weird she said it’s only as good as your tomato’s, but then specifies that you need good balsamic vinegar.
