      I like Lucario, and I have a difficult time getting in on characters like chandelure, suicune, Gengar etc. I'd love to see something like "how to beat X character" or something like that.

      Hey @@BadIntent, so I'm wondering why you're so insistent in saying that Pokken isn't like RPS? As a fighting game enthusiast I think RPS helps get people (new players) to understand the type of game a fighting game is: which is based on mix-up elements. I think it's much better to say "it's like a much more complicated version of RPS" or "it's like RPS with more options and needing to position yourself".
      I know you made this vid awhile ago, but just trying to help!

    Would you say Blastoise is easy enough to start with for a complete noob like me? I really like this Pokemon but I don't wanna buy his DLC now if I'll just end up dropping him for a more beginner-friendly character.

    • @BadIntent
      @BadIntent  Před 5 lety

      yeah Blastoise is easy as far as execution and learning goes. It's harder to play at a higher level since you have to be knowledge about the other characters zoning tools, but it has a simple gameplan.

    I got Pokkén on the switch about a month ago, and I chose to main with Suicune... Kind of regret that, heh. Anyways, I am horrible at online. I didn't lose a single battle in game, including against Shadow Mewtwo, but when playing online I loose almost every battle, sometimes to getting stuck in my opponents wall combo, and others just due to lag. Do you have any suggestions for maining Suicune? Or should I just use a different 'mon?

    • @BadIntent
      @BadIntent  Před 5 lety

      Since you're new to the game, it's expected to lose most of your matches online. I had about a 25-30% win rate for the first few months. I don't play suicune so I don't have too many specific tips, but focus on learning to zone in duel phase with mostly jY and 6X/5X. 2X is also a decent poke, and Suicune's CADC is one of the best in the game.
      General tips:
      -Get a LAN adapter if you don't have one to reduce lag
      -Play people in the pokken arena discord in long sets to improve instead of ranked matches.
      -Ask Allister in the Suicune discord for assistance.

    Hey guys, I'm an experienced fighting gamer that picked this up to play casually. I'm having a problem. I love and am really good at lucario and blaziken but i feel like i want to master one or two more pokemon. I've tried mewtwo and scizor and weavile to no avail. Is there any other pokemon that play similar to lucario or blaziken that I could get good at? Any advice would be appreciated! :)

    • @BadIntent
      @BadIntent  Před 6 lety

      Thanks for stopping by! I play Blaziken also, and I think Empoleon has a similar overall gameplan and its pressure is even more dangerous. As for Lucario, Pikachu comes to mind. Both are good at controlling space mid-range in duel, but have to work harder in field. And both have very powerful pokes in Burst Mode and Burst attacks that go basically full screen.

    Hello, sometimes when I fight characters and attack them during their attack they glow red. My attack is coming out first so why is it not winning? For example i attack Mewtwo after i knock it down and its attack glows red and somehow he doesnt flinches from mine at that moment. Is that some different form of counter attack? i thought counter attacks only glow blue...

    • @BadIntent
      @BadIntent  Před 6 lety +3

      AMVhuntingSyndrom Great question. That's Mewtwo's Psytrike attack. It has a different type of armor than counter attacks. Some people call it hit resist but most refer to it as "red armor". Certain attacks like Chandelure's Overheat, Mewtwo Psytrike, and Garchomp Burst attack have this property. Unlike counter armor, it can't be grabbed but it can only absorb a certain number of hits. You can use a counter piercing move to beat it clean or avoid it somehow by blocking or backdashing. I will go into more detail about armor in chapter 2!

  • @TheFloodFourm
    @TheFloodFourm Před 6 lety +1

    How am I supposed to know which attacks I can and cant counter?

    • @BadIntent
      @BadIntent  Před 6 lety

      You can technically counter any attack that doesn't say counter pierce in the move list description. But some of them will recover too fast to hit. So that's just trial and error.

    I wanted to watch this video because I can't do wall combo's even though I press the buttons in the order they say before I get a chance to press them all the picture stops and goes back like I didn't do it right, I've tried many times

    • @BadIntent
      @BadIntent  Před 6 lety

      Give me an example of the combo you're doing and I can see what the issue is!

    • @Misanthropy83
      @Misanthropy83 Před 6 lety

      it's the 4th tutorial and the bit about wall combo's land a wall combo I can do the first bit Right + Y, Y because it moves down to the next section which is Down + Y cancel Left + A I can't seem to do that or if I do it doesn't give me enough time and cuts out and resets

    • @BadIntent
      @BadIntent  Před 6 lety

      Alright, sorry it's been taking so long to get this sorted out! Combo dojo, correct? Which character did you use? When I get back I'm going to try to record a small video to demonstrate and help out.

      @Misanthropy83 Před 6 lety

      thanks it would really help if you did a video of the 4th tutorial because the section on cancelling and wall combos I just don't get I don't know if I'm missing something or not pressing the buttons fast enough or correctly but it's so frustrating

    • @BadIntent
      @BadIntent  Před 6 lety

      Misanthropy83 alright I'm back at my system and I can record. Which character's combo is this? if you have like a screen shot or anything I can see so I can replicate it I can do it today.
