- Just watched this movie again today and forgot how hilarious this scene was! I thought I'd upload a clip of it. These two were one of the best comedic duos in history, in my opinion. They just don't make comedy like this anymore....

I wondered if that was James Dean in the background. I was thinking, 'that guy looks like James Dean but what would he be doing in a Jerry Lewis film'?
2:37 wish they had the chance to come out. Clearly visible they loved eachother and tried to show it to the public. Both of them had to dive back into the average wife household, where they were everything but happy. I can only imagine how heart shattering that must have been, having to constantly hide. And as soon as the rumours came up, they had to split... what a darn tragedy...
That's the same thing I've always thought. Their breakup is so weird…and the legend they both perpetuate of 20 years of not talking it's not true at all. Until 1967 they met often at public events, spoke on the phone, in 1966/67 they even thought of working together again. Their children were friends. There is a photo of Jerry with Claudia Martin together that dates back to 1966/67. Deana Martin still calls Jerry by the name "Uncle Jerry" to this day and still loves it. Then something happened that almost certainly divided them for real. And both entered the spiral of full depression and percodan. Jerry had a valid reason (the splintered vertebrae) but Dean... why? Jerry cleared of percodan in 1978… Dean didn't. It has been a continuous descent of self-destruction for Dean since 1968

Their wives don't know her, (Jerry never told Patti why she broke up with Dean), Jeanne doesn't know her, their own respective children don't know her. Ricci wrote an explanation (obviously being Jeanne's son he hated Jerry even though he was only three years old in 1956), Deana Martin (daughter of that poor Betty woman) gave another explanation (and she LOVED Jerry, she considered him her second father). ONLY THE TWO KNOW AND THE TRUTH OF THE TRUE NATURE OF THEIR RELATIONSHIP DIED WITH THEM. And you toxic fans can't change that either! If you don't know, Patti told the papers that Dean was Jerry's "second wife." You make me laugh. You know nothing. you only know YOUR truth. Which is the wrong one.

The most interesting thing about Jimmy in this scene: As he leaves the room at around 3:06 he deliberately looks directly into the camera to get extra "face time".
I dunno bout that...I think it's a bit of the method acting...is this guy for real type of double-take...not superfluous....

Despite the usual cute clown expressions in this clip jerry is wonderfully handsome! And what a physical! He was thin but fit.

1) Jerry left what he had to his second marriage daughter because she was the youngest. He was in debt and could not give money to his other children.
2) Patti's children were not children! Gary was over sixty when Jerry died, ALL had jobs and are doing well financially. Jerry thought of them while he was married to Patti.
3) LEFT ALL RIGHTS TO USE HIS WORK TO SON Chris WHO CONTINUES TO EARN!
4) The daughter who lives on the street WANTS TO LIVE LIKE THIS! Jerry tried to help her but she prefers to lead that life.
5) I remind you that your idol Dean Martin (because you Jerry haters are all toxic Martin fans) ABANDONED HIS FIRST WIFE BETTY WITH HER FOUR CHILDREN WHEN THEY YES THEY WERE CHILDREN! He found a way to stop paying her alimony and eventually took the children as well. Betty became an alcoholic for all the pain she was going through and died alone like a dog without her kids next to her! But he was a good guy wasn't he?
