I think I took the Silverstar in 2006 because it had a cafe car and we drank too much coffee and soda for them to be happy lol

idk what the main reason was for removing the diner from the Silver Star. Then again, the Dining Cars on Amtrak are more or less a joke with their prepackaged boxed lunch things. 16:50 thats actually the Baltimore and Potomac Tunnel.

I was actually on the Carolinan that was headed south towards Charlotte that day. I remember passing by literally 2 Amtrak's within in 3 minutes of each other. I heard that the silver star was stacked behind the Carolinian headed north all day.

Vex Verdaland it was until we got to Richmond. From that point the Silver Star gets priority. 80 departed first but was held until we departed

I'm pretty much the same with tickets for Amtrak lol. I'm right now planning on going to Milwaukee as a test run for a eventual trip to St Louis. I'm in a electric wheelchair so I want to test the lift they use to get people in wheelchairs into the train.

briansivley2001 the lifts are pretty cool I think, especially since the ones I see are manual lifts

As a Jacksonville resident, I enjoyed the Marine Corps base commentary while going through Quantico. Also, great shot of the aircraft coming in on what looks like the River Visual for Runway 19 at DCA. Great video! I’ll have to take the train after COVID is over.

Thank you so much for this detail! WIll be taking same route in a few days...this was great to see! How was the luggage compartment (overhead?) I assume I take my suitcase on and put it in there? Sorry your train was late, but wow, you really showed me what I have to look forward to! :)

Joan Grommell there's plenty of room in the overhead rack for any bags you may have, no matter the size. The challenge is just getting it up there especially if you have larger bags
