I just love the way Nobble does his breakdowns and tells his stories.
He's okay, but Nobbel's videos are always better.

"Could we lose at the end of an expansion?"
This is something I've been wanting to see for a long time. Sure, we've lost at the beginning of an expansion, like Legion, but we have never ended a story with us on the back foot, wondering how we can recover. It is something FFXIV did really well with the end of A Realm Reborn (no spoilers), and I would love to see one of the new expansions end with us losing in a big way and fighting desperately at the start of the next expansion.
Maybe that's why we're gonna time travel to old northrend and old other places I forget in the last 2 expansions of the trilogy: to fix whatever goes wrong in part 1 :O
Give us something like the end of Halls of Reflection in Wrath, where we go in beat a bunch of bosses then the big bad shows up and hands us our asses. The last encounter is a gauntlet we have to run away through.
Thats one of the reasons I really dislike how games tend to immediately jump to the highest stakes they can. Once the stakes reach a certain point, its no longer really possible to lose. If you're fighting to save the world, you can't lose, especially in a game and especially in an MMO. If you're fighting to save a village, a city, even a nation, you can actually lose. The lower the stakes, the more likely it is for failure to actually happen, and the more attached you can get to the thing you're fighting for.
I feel like the first 2 of the 3 will end in us either losing or just barely winning so the 3rd exp will feel more satisfying

I'm excited about Iridikron and his Primalists Faction collaborating with Xa'latath and the Nerubians in Azeroth's Hollow Earth. Additionally, I am hyped to explore more Azeroth World Soul lore and visions before finally witnessing her true nature in The Last Titan Expansion.
Right. I’m really curious about how the story will work when they go back in time and bring the elves back together. Like will elune be involved? Yeah it’s light vs void with the sun well. But It is “midnight”
@@forfun6273 Midnight is the darkest time of the night when the world is shrouded in shadow. It can symbolize the mysterious, the hidden, and the unknown. In mythology, it may represent the journey into the unconscious or the realm of the subconscious mind.
From this, we could infer Midnight will explore Void visions and things unknown and kept hidden from the Azerothians.
The Void invading and corrupting the Sunwell was foreshadowed between the events of Legion and BFA when Alleria accidentally created a void gate when she touched the Sunwell, causing many Void monstrosities to spawn.
For some reason, I feel like the titans will try and force her to be born while she does not want to for the sake of us. I'm pretty sure we're fucked if she gets born and she probably does not want that.
Voidlords, Old Gods & co want the same thing as the titans but under void-infused powers, so Azeroth not being born at all and staying at the core center of the earth will be the balance between the two

Can’t kill them or you’ll destroy the world. I saw a theory that sargarus killed all the titans and what we saw in legion were just constructs. So that would only leave sargarus and Azeroth as the last titans. Idk. I think it would be cool if Azeroth awakens and takes The sword of Sargarus and just decapitates Aman’thul. Lol would be wild.

Thank you!! I needed that one to see how it was fitting together. I love your lore work, it's why I play the game, for the lore. I had forgotten that little bit with Wrathion and Anduin. Do you think we'll see the black dragon again in War Within? I can't imagine him not showing to see how the thing is going to play out, and, maybe support his friend, Anduin, again. I'll be keeping up with your videos so I find out what I miss.
Looks like Anduin needs a new cloak, so maybe?... j/k! Since that scene is no longer available in game, I wonder if it will factor in at all. I'm glad it's included here. I can't imagine him not being involved, though. The black flight are earth-aligned and must be picking up on what's going on. But also to support his friend. He's had his own experience isolating himself because of what he's done...

These 3 expansion premises does feel like it is what should have happened after Legion, while BFA, Shadowlands and Dragonflight felt like they were trying to break away from the story thread of the past
because the director Chris Metzen left us after legion and now he is back!
I would disagree, BFA and Shadowlands has tried way too hard to follow up legions storyline but in bad direction, and dragonflight feels more like taking a step back to do a proper story and lore setup for the new trilogy. Dragonflights in all aspects (even the story) appears as a big prototype for worldsoul saga.

It would be really interesting to see where the story goes it the void and light. Would everything in nzoth's nightmare come to pass and the light looses? I'd like to see this would be a perfect oppertunity for Arator the redeemer to play a part in some way since he is a child of Alleria (The void) and Turaylon (The light). Sylvanas offering guidance to Alleria would be really interesting as well.
Except her son was born before she was imbued with the Void.
Question: Because i feel it may be relative but WHAT is the giant statue at The Pit of Fiends in Icc?

Would love a history of the void video
I once heard and read from some old lore that in WoW every being has a single "soul" within itself which allows it to "will" itself in the realm. The soul in itself is naturally at a certain balance between Light and Shadow where persistent moods and thoughts arise and go.
Take a look at the Lightforged questline where a Draenei goes through the trials to become a Lightforged.
Or more recently, a spirit latching on to Shandris as Lilian Voss helps her in the Emerald Dream overcome her grief. I think that with Shadowlands we had alot of thoughts about the "machinations" behind souls. Soul-Forges, Soulbinding, Soul Destruction etc. War Within will probably be about what exactly a soul is to begin with, and how the cosmic forces are constantly attempting to latch onto or tear apart souls. This is a theme that was always present in WoW since the very beginning, but never something that was explored in-depth. And I strongly believe that "memories" and shared emotions are something in WoW that can temeporarly bring back entities that were long gone as the individual struggles with similar issues. We saw that in Anduin's Shalamayne moment where you hear the soft voice "My son" rather sound like King Menethil as he has the hand placed on his shoulder, and the ghastly effects of the short moment in the clip shows the blue light of his soul being drawn towards (probably) Shalamayne itself. I believe that Anduin is "possessed" in that way, by Arthas' spirit and legacy, as he is going through similar emotions and a similar story as Arthas did, with the only twist that he faults himself for something he actually wasn't responsible for. So if you see the Light and Shadow as two extremes of a slidebar for the human soul and condition, Anduin right now is leaning towards the Shadow, and is therefore unable to find his Light back. Since the Emerald Dream received a gift from the Shadowlands which enabled it to spawn a World Tree into Existence, I believe that this is partly due to the fact that the Veil was broken, and at the same time, what was in the Maw in Shadowlands, is now born into Reality, into Azeroth itself, and I believe that we are witnessing the birth of a New Old God we were responsible for and that we will get alot of stuff about the void / shadow, and definitely some bugs to kill.

They don't need to reinvent the wheel. Just get back to what made the game great for the first few expansions: grounded storytelling that heavily involves azeroth and its cities, the native factions there, keep the current style of talent trees, make way more class based quest lines, do the same with weapons, heavily expand and focus on PVP, etc.
Greetings Nobbel, I have a burning question that I was seeking help with. What do you think is the purpose in giving back the Aspects their power? 80% of the Aspects have ended, or are planned to end in evil and destruction. Maly, Deathwing, Ysera before her death, and Nozdormu. This leaves only one left that has not turned evil. As the defenders of Azeroth, why would we let them become powerful again?

when bungie announced the next 3 destiny expansions (at the time), what followed was some of the most exciting years to be a destiny player! So happy this kind of hype and ticket admission feeling is coming to my first love, wow :)
I wonder who the “Heretics” mentioned in one of the books found in DF supposed to be, since the earthen does not seem opposed the titans and the Arathi are to young civilisation. Any thoughts mighty lore master?
Also, any connections between the fire beards of both Sargeras and Odin, just coincidence or titanic fashion?
The “crystal” at Hallowfall looks too symmetrical. The more I look at it, I want to say Naaru versus just a “natural crystal”

Like what's up with the Infinite whose story is definitely not done, what's up with the Night Elves, what even is the Dream ? what's is this Decay thing ? What is this Alexstraza betrayal thing ?

I'm looking forward to it. Lore wise either it will great and Ill get to return to caring about the story or it will be like Dragon flight and the last bits of hope die freeing me after nearly 30 years.

Tbh I'm kinda hyped after Blizzcon. Left Dragonflight, I thought it was boring. We killed death, and now lizzards? Meh...

I hope you know that Chris had nothing to do with the next expansion. Blizz is already working on the next one by the time the current new expansion hits beta test. All this was already a work in progress well before they brought him back. I'm afraid he was brought back for marketing purposes only because he is good at hyping people up and he is their last resource to bring us some nostalgia. So probably he got a meaningless title and he will hae little to no effect on the actual game development. Also I'm a bit worried they will speed up releases and we will get new expansions in every 1 and a half years. They kept cutting content in Shadowlands - a full patch cycle - and they cut content in Dragonflight too. The 3 expansion kinda sounds like one big expansion cut into three. Maybe their plan is to push out expansions faster with less content so they can cash in on increased box prices more often while producing less actual content. They kept cutting content so we paid more for less already. This whole thing could easily turn out to be the Hobbit trilogy where they spread out a short book story to have 3 movies instead of having 3 Lord of the rings movies which were based on 3 very long books. If they drop the ball on this it will hurt the game waaay too much so lets hope for the best but the hopium supplies ran out years ago..

this is the first time since legion I'm at least hopeful about WoW's story, it seems they actually have something thought out, maybe that means less last min changes and not being so worried about community feed back and changing stuff based on the vocal minority. my only worry is how much will the current culture at blizzard will allow Metzen to try to get warcraft's tone back to it's original feeling.

@@purplebean8989same! I've been literally trying to think of how to make it so shadowlands is more of a purgatory so the lore could kind of expand to the "unknown truly after death" thing.
Am I crazy or do I remember wrong? I remember them saying that the Old Gods were not dead, only their avatars. But now they said they are all dead....
In wrath they indicated that the old gods don't die, but in more recent times they decided that they were in fact dead.
I don't agree with the decision but that's what they're going with.
Blizzard retconned alot of things over the years or is switching things around.
The Old Gods on Azeroth are dead/banished. They basicly are back in the void

So we have had Grinding quests for 20 years and now we get the same in expansions so we got to grind 3 expansions now.

While I think it's always exciting to see what comes next after an expansion when you don't know, I think this is an important step for them to take if they want the story to make sense going forward. Plan out one big story and keep it going through expansions. I think the previous design philosophy of mostly having expansions be self-contained while leaving a lot of loose ends has really been hurting the continuity and coherence of the story.

Imo it all sounds really interesting and its got potential. But most importantly it dont matter how much potential something have it ppl fuck it up or there execution of it falls short can mess that up.
Northrend in The Last Titan won't be on tera firma. It'll be adrift in the Twisting Nether.

with an expansion about underground Azeroth, I hope that in some patch or at some point we get to explore the undermine, it's an important underground zone that was talked about a lot in the lore but never really explored, actually I think it could've made for a pretty cool capital city

I do hope Wrathion shows up in the War Within. It wouldn't surprise me if they wanted to bench him though, but if they do, they better at least have another Black Dragon tagging along. I mean, it's Azeroth, and we're going underground, so it fits their whole thing

Not going to lie, this sounds so much better than Shadowlands.
thr thre clans of dwarves and earthen are very similar. peahps the dwarves were originaly in similar roles orignally. i think perhaps it is a naaru crytal or a old god birth crystal. teh reverse of narru turn darker and darker til end. isnead a shell of light though contain a dark yolk, getting darke as it absorbs the amnotic fluid.

Going through the old recs, I'd lose my shit if they'd do something for those that kept the gift. Just random whispers like we got during the timetravel black empire thing would be enough.
I suspect some dev would like to do that, but the absolute insane state of FOMO from playerbase would prevent them from even implementing this.

Iridikron escaped with the relic to aid Xal'atath, Fyrrak is going to the final boss in the upcoming raid, and Vyranoth switched sides due to Fyrrak becoming too unhinged

New Earthen are going to reveal they and the machines were there before the titans showed up and they were just modified by the titans like the dragons.
Another Dwarf allied race, man where's a Forsaken allied race! That'd be so awesome.
