So you mentioned that you cut the zinnia and laid them out to dry for the seeds. But wondering if you can cut the flower for enjoyment in a vase of water. And then once they “die” will there be seeds from that that I can save for replanting later?!
You can grow zinnias as cut flowers, but they have a short vase life, which is why you don't often see them in store-bought bouquets. The flowers need to be on the plant longer to produce mature seeds. So you can cut some and leave some on the plant to mature
After the frost, call the different colors turned dark burnt orange. Never noticed before.

I'm a total noob, and planted four of these plants in one pot 😅. I'm guessing they'll die
It's so hard to know how big flowers will grow until you've grown them. Some zinnias bush out, and others grow really tall. They might be okay in the pot, depending on how big it is.
