Crosside Control - Why your opponent changes position on top? And how to capitalize when he does.

  • This video covers a very important concept for how to get to your knees from the bottom of side control, so that your opponent cannot take your back.
    What happens is, once you learn how to stay on your side and deny your opponent the ability to flatten you out from the bottom of side control, they will often change positions and move to take the back.
    If you don't know how to do this, there's a good chance your opponent will beat you in the race, every time.
    But if you DO know how to do this, it doesn't matter how fast they are, you'll always be able keep your opponent in front of you for an easy takedown.

    It’s crazy how important and powerful this is, but nobody seems to teach it. Can’t wait to put it into practice.

      I agree. Most people don't pay attention to Rickson's BBs lineage guys because they aren't world champions in 'sport' BJJ.

    I’mve been training about a month now. I love how he tells you exactly what to do with every part of your body during the varios techniques. And why. He seems like he actually has secret knowledge AND he is great at teaching it.

    This is so legit - yesterday i started rollings on bottom and using it ends on top. Both rollings were with 2 heavy black belts, who usually smashed me as hell. I can't wait how great it will be after I actually will master it.

  • @wingoreviewsboxingandmma3667

    I love the way you explain this about 🤼‍♂️ wrestlers shooting underneath and why in a fight not to try and go back to guard when you should be trying to get on top or back up to your feet so you can escape

  • @wingoreviewsboxingandmma3667

    Thank you Henry for talking about how in a real fight you don't want to be in the guard because of how vulnerable you are to taking damage. Most of these Jiujitsu people do not understand this and will hip escape right back to guard and even pull guard in a real fight.

      @ThugLifeModafocah Před 2 lety +2

      @@CUNDUNDO It seems you are being sarcastic. If you don't know Jiu Jitsu in Brazil, most of the academies teaches competition jiu jitsu. Very few of them, if so, has the type of JJ Rickson/Henry teaches. I know because I practice JJ around here and it is different than what I see in these videos.

    I’m not sure how Danaher ended up being considered the best Bjj coach by the main stream over Henry Akins cause imho Henry is a clearly superior coach. Danaher is no shlub, don’t get me wrong he is a damn fine instructor, but Akins teaches per Bjj voodoo.

    It is worth noting that Yair Rodriguez has been trained as a Professional fighter at elite gyms and never cared about getting a belt or wearing a Gi.
    Make no mistake, Yair has said as a “White Belt” he only rolls with Black Belts, and that belts do not matter in MMA.
    Technically this is a bad example to use.
    Now Nate Diaz tapping a Black Belt as a Purple Belt might be a better one.
